I really wanted to have a good experience of this place. I have Celiac Disease and I went to this restaurant because of the good reviews from others with Celiac. Unfortunately I can confidently say it was my worst experience dining somewhere since being diagnosed. The only good thing is it was so bad it actually became kind of funny. When we sat down, we could hear people complaining all around us about food taking too long or not arriving at all. I told the waitress I have Celiac Disease, therefore would like her to tell me what I could safely eat. She listed a few items off the menu and said that these ‘should’ be fine for me. I ordered the BBQ chicken with corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. She said she’d swap the mashed potatoes for rice as these weren’t gluten free. We also ordered an appetiser of chips and salsa. About 40 minutes after ordering we still didn’t have any food and a table behind us got their chips and salsa 5 minutes after arriving. We asked about this and they said they’d check. Soon after this we got our main courses without the appetiser. The BBQ chicken had mashed potatoes on and a bread roll. Straight away I said is this bread gluten free? And she said ‘no it’s not’. I also questioned why I had mashed potatoes after she said they weren’t gluten free, which she said that was a mistake, they are gluten free. I told her I now needed a completely new meal as the bread will have contaminated the rest of the food, they can’t just take the bread off. We asked again about the chips and salsa and she said she’d check again and told us ‘the kitchen has been awful tonight’. About 5 minutes later she brought out my meal without the bread. I wasn’t certain they’d re made it, instead of just taking off the bread, seeing as this took 5 minutes and previously it took 40. By this time I didn’t trust it at all so didn’t eat it. I was visibly upset and not once did the waitress apologise, she just took it away, without any explanation or sense of sincerity. Still no chips and salsa. It really seems they don’t take Celiac seriously and don’t even understand it fully. I was made to feel I was a nuisance for questioning her. She asked us if we still wanted the appetiser at this point and we said no and left. Definitely do not recommend if you have...
Read moreShowed up before dinner rush hour for a quick bite. It was anything but quick. We were seated quickly enough as the restaurant had only one other person eating at a table. The waitress came over to take our drink order and we also ordered chips and salsa as appetizer. At the same time, we went ahead and put in our entree order because we wanted to get in and out without losing too much time. As we sat there - more and more folks started coming in. 1 table then a few minutes later another. 1 large party of 14 came in and was expected and seated in the back. The place was never packed. There were plenty of tables available. Our waitress - after we ordered - seemed to be gone. She didn't check on us and seemed to be 1 of maybe 2 waitresses working. She came by our booth finally, and we asked about our chips and salsa - mind you, it has been 30 minutes since we ordered. It's chips and salsa people - not something made to order. Finally, 10 minutes later the chips and salsa come out and we ask about our entrees because it has been 40 minutes now. She said they would be coming out shortly. Well, it was immediately after she dropped off the chips and salsa. Needless to say, we didn't eat much of the chips and salsa.
Let's now discuss the food. My friend had salmon, baked potato and corn. The salmon was fine. Baked potato you can't really mess up that bad LOL and the corn tasted like canned corn. I had the John Wayne burger. It was a solid burger but lacked flavor (perhaps overcooked?) and BBQ was hard to find. The burger patty is much smaller than the bun although the bun is a nice brioche bun, it was just lopsided. I had fries. Now you would think that the fries would be nice and fresh for as long as we waited but no. They were luke warm and honestly, tasted like frozen fries from a bag. Nothing special.
The inside is basic tables and booths. The decor is cheeky western. This is not a stand out place to dine. The service was lacking and the...
Read moreWhile traveling through Utah and Arizona for a vacation I have waited for for over 6 months we left Utah and came to Page AZ for vacation. We were starving after traveling through Grand Canyon, checked into our hotel and went to this little family restaurant. We got confused and went through the wrong door and was greeted by someone that was confused why we came through that door then we basically sat ourselves. (Lock the door if it’s not customer entrance please) Once we sat the friendly waitress took our order and we waited for about 30 to 40 min for food. When the food came the first mistake was they forgot that one of our party asked for baked potato. Okay little mistake and they fixed. Then my fiancé took a look at her country fried steak and smelled it and it was awful. I asked if we could change for a burger, the restaurant complied. Then my other two party members started to complain about their food as well. The same plate (country fried steak) was smelly and she was spitting out pieces of cartilage from it. She tried to finish it to just deal with it and could not. The steak for my other party was a brick and he took three bites. We then decided we did not want to proceed as this could spell disaster for our vacation we waited so long for. We spoke to the lady manager there ( sorry did not get a name because of frustration at moment) and she said we would have to pay for whole meal with a small discount. My fiancés burger came out so we were going to just let her eat and wait until done. She took one bite and the middle was raw and pink. She gave it back we ended up paying about 56 bucks in all and only one who ate a decent meal was me. (Fish and chips). Very disappointed the manager handled herself in the way she did and I wish the best for the...
