It was a very good experience. My wife found the Bear den on a travel web sites and it was rated well, so we tried if (I usually stay in a hotel). The room was for my grandson and I for a vacation trip we were on (a guys trip).
We were flying into Page to go rafting on the Colorado River and the Bear Den set up the rafting trip for us (offered to do it when I called to set up my room reservation). When my grandson and I arrived at the Page airport, the owner of the Bear Den drove over to pick us up (also offered that when we set up our room reservation). After we checked in he then recommended other attractions in the Page area to also see and ended up setting up a trip to Antelope Canyon (boat cruse) for that evening. The owner then drove my grandson and I to a restaurant we had selected for a late lunch and returned afterward to take us back to the Bear Den.
The next morning we had breakfast (very good) then the owner took us back over to the airport to drop off our bags and give me time to preflight my plane. He returned to the airport 45 min later to take us to the Colorado River Discovery (rafting) place.
At the end of the day the owner returned yet again to the rafting place and drove us back to the airport so we could fly on to Tucson.
This was my first stay at the Bear Den and I could not believe how much the owner went out of his way to make both our experience, and that of 2 other families that were visiting from Germany so nice. It will certainly be where I stay whenever...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place to stay. I agree with all of the reviews. Bubba and Debbie welcome you into their home and have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. We had the king room which had a private entrance and spacious bathroom, complete with large refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker (didn’t use because Bubba made it for me each morning) and microwave. ||The Bear’s Den is in a convenient, safe location. 10 minutes drive to Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Rim Walk, Glen Canyon Dam, etc. It is in a residential neighborhood and a very short walk to a few restaurants, including Bonkers, our favorite. (Food so good, we ate there twice - don’t let the name fool you. )||As others have said, they have thought of everything: water bottles, snacks, homemade cookies, chocolate by your bedside and the breakfasts are amazing. We had gourmet omelettes every morning - even at 6:30 am on our departure day. They have brochures and information about everything. ||Bubba and Debbie are very knowledgeable about the area and couldn’t be better hosts. We felt very welcome....
