This club Wyndham resort was very family friendly. The two hot tubs and heated pool were great. We had a room overlooking the pools and a fire pit which was nice. We had a week long rental from Saturday to Saturday and we were greeted with a firework show and a free s'mores roast. The kids had access to the shuffleboard table and Foosball table in the lobby which provided hours of enjoyment. The 7-11 down the street was walkable and the kids were able to get snacks if desired there. The room was clean and spacious and comfortable. Some of the staff (Adam) went above and beyond to help facilitate getting to the park city base to expedite the start of the ski day. Here are some improvements I'd suggest. -let the guests know about the fire work show and the best place to view it from. When we checked in we were told about the s'mores but not the fireworks. -when we checked in the receptionist was more interested in making sure we made a reservation for a sales pitch that would negate the $20 a day parking fee. ( -at check in we were not given any information about what to do with trash or how to get fresh towels or housekeeping. -the room lacked a few things including a pen and paper, hooks, and a welcome packet. -it would have been nice if the front desk had lift and trail maps available to guests upon request. -on multiple occasions we were told the lifts didn't start until 9am which was not the case during the week. The gondola outside the club started at about 8am and the mountain lifts started at 8:40. I believe the club is doing the guests a disservice by misinforming guests leading to missing the best half hour of skiing. -the staff at check in did not inform me that the ski valet was run by a 3rd party (aloha ski and sport) and on the day before check out it would be locked. This happened to me when packing to leave. My children did not bring their skis in at the end of the day. When asked after hours about 8pm if the skis could be recovered they said no they didn't have a key and I would have to call the next day to figure out how to send the skis back to where I lived. Luckily I called Mike at aloha ski and sport who said a person had already been there earlier in the night but he was willing to come back out to unlock the...
Read moreWe stayed Sunday to Sunday. Initial check-in was pleasant enough. They charge $10 per night per vehicle.
I had a two bedroom, two bathroom hotel room overlooking the Waldorf.
I wasn't given much introduction to the property or amenities (probably because I wasn't interested in a time share presentation). My time is worth far more than the presentation package.
At any rate, unlike other similar properties, they do not offer mid week cleaning. Instead, they want to charge you $200.
They offer daily Smores (or so they advertise) from 6-9 pm. However, in dealing with the women at the front desk (it's never the men) one particularly rude one refused to give my party of 6 the boxes and sticks, insisting that only happened on Saturdays and Sundays (it was a Tuesday). I went upstairs, grabbed my leaflet, and showed her the advertisement. The man at the desk had no problem giving us the kits.
When we asked about breakfast options, another rude woman stuck up her nose and informed us that we could go to the Waldorf to pay "Waldorf prices for Waldorf portions" which came across as incredibly snobbish and ignorant. As if Wyndham rates in the same class?
My room was okay if you didn't mind plugged sinks, the smell of mildew, and dust on the fan blades (room 324). The lighting isn't the greatest, and they could definitely upgrade the bathroom bulbs.
The fire alarm drill was okay and to compensate they offered take away breakfast read apple juice, yogurt, and granola bar however when one of my party members went to grab it, he was informed they didn't offer it. Lol. Another member went downstairs and asked someone else (a man), and wouldn't you know it? They produced it.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with the female staff. They are truly a black mark on what could be a good place. There was only one woman who would help, and she did it with a huge smile (I think her name was either Hannah or Grace).
The lack of professionalism is astounding. Despite the location next to a ski lift, I won't be back. I filled out their survey, and I've waited a week to discuss this with someone, and no response has occurred. I guess truth really pierces...
Read moreI've been to over a dozen of the Wyndham timeshares before and this was the newest one I have ever been to.
The Good: It was beautiful. I can see it being much more so in the winter with the gondolas being right there, although during summer it was still great for hosting our family for a week.
The 2bed/bath we had was spacious, new and had a great layout. This one opted to get rid of the dining room in lieu of a dividing 8 person table that split the living room and kitchen to make up for the dining room we've seen in other Wyndham 2 bedrooms.
I've also never seen a Harry David welcome gift from the timeshare-booking-pick-up-parking-pass lady. That was neat but we still couldn't muster the strength to sit through a tag-team timeshare presentation, err, update, yes, that's it. That lady and the check-in lady were very nice though.
The kids loved the pool. There is also a firepit down near the pool!
The only bad thing:
Upon checkout they gave me a bill for $10/day valet parking. First off, there was no valet, at least I didn't hand my keys to anyone. Apparently, there is a parking fee that was supposed to have been explained upon check-in, which was never given to my wife or I.
They removed it after I questioned why, as an owner, would I be charged a parking fee to park at some place I own? I've stayed at many Wyndham's with limited parking and never seen a parking fee, other than Daytona Beach, where it was "free for one car", BUT extra for more cars (which is understandable as some take advantage with 3-4 cars per unit). I honestly think they need to make it free for one car... Anyway, the manager who removed the fee told me, their justification of charging the fee is that the San Francisco Wyndham does it? Okay... In hindsight, I would have paid it if it were presented to me upfront but probably still would have made a stink about it upfront too--which is probably why the check-in agent didn't bother doing it
Looking forward to checking this place out...
