We took our son and daughter to The Edge to celebrate my son’s birthday. We had never been before and were visiting our son from out of town. We will return to The Edge on our next trip. The food and the service were spectacular!
We scored with having Jacob as our server. He was warm and friendly and didn’t rush us at all. He went over the dining options with us, especially the steak selections, with knowledge and that was helpful.
My daughter had the prix fixe dinner and it was amazing, as were my son’s and my filets with lobster tail accompaniment. My husband had a 90-day aged steak which he loved. The steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned and incredibly tender. We are from an area that is saturated with outstanding beef choices so we’ve had lots of great beef in the past, but The Edge’s offerings were some of, if not the best, we’ve had.
We enjoyed the tomato basil soup (I tasted my husband’s then had to order my own because it was fantastic), the garlic mashed potatoes, and bourbon glazed carrots. Everything was wonderful. The Chef also sent out delicious popovers with uniquely delicious lavender and basil butter. It was a delightful treat.
My daughter’s dinner came with a vanilla creme brûlée and they also decorated a plate with Happy Birthday and presented us with a very large and perfect chocolate soufflé. My son loves creme brûlée so he shared my daughter’s. We asked Jacob how they made it because it was the best creme brûlée we’d ever tasted. Jacob explained the quality ingredients, such as Madagascar vanilla, and the technique and then he did the nicest thing: when he returned with the Chef’s gift of homemade chocolates (which were amazing), he brought my son another creme brûlée as a special treat. That is thoughtful, kind, and outstanding service.
We’ve been fortunate to travel quite a bit and dine in some amazing restaurants both in the states and internationally. It’s hard to beat a leisurely meal, superbly served, with outstanding, top-notch food. That’s what you get when you dine at The Edge. The evening made for a memorable birthday dinner not only for our son, but for our...
Read moreSometimes there are no words to describe a wonderful experience...in any industry. In the food industry, a meal can be a meal or an experience.
At the Edge, it's an experience where you are given permission, latitude, space, and immediate service, as needed. Nicole Waltrip, the GM, has hired not just great staffers, but kind (genuinely nice) people who really want you to feel a sense of belonging and family. It stands to reason that Nicole treats staff as family and, thus, the feeling trickles down to you. "Welcome to the family. What would you like?" What are you celebrating, something or nothing? It doesn't matter. Your and every table is given ultimate respect.
No matter the occasion, Nicole, Derek, Matt, Mark, Georgiana, et al, will welcome you as if you are the only party that matters. And let me tell you, whether you prefer to be formal or informal, they tend to adapt.

Sound expensive? Think again. Their tasting menu, which includes a choice of Waygu beef filet as an entree, that melts in your mouth, is a three-course, top-shelf menu for only $55 per person. Any local would be remiss not to both enjoy it first-hand and recommend it to visitors.
