My experience at this hotel was not terrible, but lacked in some areas where most hotels don't. Starting with the good, it is right on the mountain which makes it convenient to ski. The valet service was also pretty good as well which we appreciated. This is a review of the hotel not the mountain; the mountain I am a fan of. I was disappointed in the lazy excuse the hotel has using Covid as a reason they only do room service every 3 days. That is lame and that word is an understatement. With the money spent, I want housekeeping service every day especially since we are out all day. There is no better opportunity! The hotel workers don’t even wear masks and they interact with guests. You can’t say Covid will spread so no every day room service! Yet someone delivers breakfast to our room and workers are walking around without masks. Not falling for it. Covid doesn’t decide not to spread just because they are serving food, but if they clean the room let’s spread. Not how the virus works. I would go as far to say that I would have canceled the entire trip had I known this. There is more of a risk in driving on the slippery roads here than Covid spreading cleaning a room yet your staff do it. Do you want to come into my room serving breakfast because that is a safe time? I heard that their reason for lack of daily housekeeping was also due to being understaffed, and they claim customers like it that way anyway. I am evidently not one of those guests and neither is anyone in my family. In reality I do not NEED housekeeping every day but, we are entitled to it or else I'll just stay home and watch videos of skiing. The main thing this hotel got right was the location. We also tried making reservations for hotel restaurants, which of course had to be complicated. When calling, they said you need to verify the reservation via email. Firstly, no. Calling is more than enough we should not need to email. Regardless, we tried and the restaurant told us we did not use the email reservation correctly; because of this, we had to audible and find somewhere else to eat. Would not come back unless these things changed. I know all about excuses because I made dumb ones like this at age 12, I expect better from a ski resort. The other good thing is the staff was really nice, especially Augustine of Argentina. He is a very nice guy and helpful so you can thank him for the extra star. If there is any trip that merits everyday housekeeping, it’s a ski trip when everyone is out most of the day. I’m not just speaking on behalf of myself, my companions were also...
Read moreWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Every employee I have dealt with does not keep their word! Manager, asst. manager, housekeeping manager, etc...all have promised things and never kept their word! Our dishwasher has been out of commission for 3 out of our 4 days stay here (and it is still not fixed!). We were told by the receptionist and asst. manager that we were going to have it fixed within the first day we were here. We were told we would have a call back from the asst. manager within an hour of what would be done. 3 hours later, still no resolution!!! Actually, try 3 days later, and still no resolution. That's not the worst of it. We arrived here at 11:00 PM. The place was a disaster (i.e. not clean at all). They sent a crew to clean, but the job was only spot cleaned and still not done well at all. I was on my hands and knees cleaning the sticky from the floor for over 1.5 hours. We had to clean the kitchen, bathrooms, showers...(the whole place). My 4 kids went to bed at 2:00 A.M. and my wife and I at 3:00 A.M. The dishwasher is always full of suds, even after about 20 rounds of running it without anything or any detergent in it. A prior tennant or housekeeper put dish soap into the dishwasher. When they came to vacuum the carpets the next day, the cleaning person was vacuuming more over the cord for the vacuum than over the floors. When I talked to Ryan (the asst. manager), he stated that a lot of the housekeepers are on work visas and don't even know what a couch, dishwasher, or vacuum is. Our dishwasher still will not run without having a ton of suds in it. Ryan's excuse was that the housekeepers are doing their best. The showers have MOLD in them. When the head housekeeper came, he stated that it is just discoloration of the grout. I purchased some cleaner at Wal-Mart and , VIOLA!!!, the MOLD came right off!!! When trying to talk to a manager about it, the head manager (Kristen) said she would be here in an hour and get back to us. It is now 5 hours later and some cookies, milk, crackers, and cheese shows up at our door, still not word from Kristen!!! IF YOU WANT TO STAY AT A DIRTY PLACE WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PLAN TO PAY AN OVERPRICED AMOUNT TO HAVE A PLATE OF COOKIES AND A PLATE OF CHEESE AND CRACKERS, STAY HERE! OTHERWISE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A PLACE...
Read moreI came here for a conference in May, so skiing wasn't an option, and their summer activities don't seem to start until June. So there wasn't a whole lot to do here. I don't regularly ski, so I can't speculate on the quality of the runs. The hotel is also far from everything, so without a car, you can't easily get around. It seems the Park City busses come nearby, but I don't think they run very often.
I don't know if it was because of the time of the year, or the group rate that I got for the conference, but I was able to get a 2 bedroom hotel room with three queen-sized beds, a pullout couch, and room to fit three more people (two day beds near the windows and the booth surrounding the dining table), and a fire place for only $120/night. A very good rate, but I assume it's much more expensive in the winter.
The views are pretty, and the staff is nice, but there was nothing about the hotel that made me think it was a good conference location. I think there was a lack of dining options as well. Luckily the friends I came to the conference decided to rent a car, so we could drive to get some food.
There is a complete lack of sidewalks on the hotel's grounds. They have paved paths between some of the buildings, but if you'd like to go for a walk anywhere else, there are no paved or gravel sidewalks. This may not be a big deal in the winter, but when there is no snow and you want to talk around, it can be obnoxious.
The hotel charges for making local phone calls and 800-number calls. Free local calls is fairly standard at hotels, so while they may state their policy in the book that comes with the room, not posting a notice by the phones seems fairly sleazy to me. I dialed an 800-number to confirm my ride back to the airport, and found a charge for the call on my bill. When I called the hotel back, they were willing to remove the charge, however.
I was pleased to find that there was no bible or book of Mormon in the...
