We recenty stayed at 828 Black Bear Cub Way .To our dismay we walked on eggshells the whole stay because the owner had a 4page rule book to follow. This was not our first experience staying in a cabin. This cabin needed some updating and minor repairs. We were not looking for perfection, just a nice, clean, roomie place to vacation. All of the guest ages range from 40-70+years.so there was no wild partying going on.We brought out own pots, utensils, towels etc..and even toilet tissue. She insisted Sunday checkout to be before 10:00am.Before we left we cleaned, vacuumed, stripped beds and placed the towels where she demanded.By mistake the Dollartree salt shaker was packed, which has been mailed back and the dust pan was misplaced. The place was clean! The owner called before we could reach home and said she will not be returning our deposit due to damages ,dustpan missing and the salt shaker!Really! She was rude and condesending but when getting the deposit and payments she was very nice..she had Dollartree toilet holders that if touched popped out and loose comodes. We even had to call a plumber during our stay.I guess this is a way to rob good people trying to vacation, while padding your pocketbook. She knows she makes alot of money for a couple of days stay.knowingly her mortgage is only $649.monthly..she even accused her housekeepers of wrong doing and being slack. She ought to be SHAME!!!We love cabin stays but will definitely no be going there again and will inform our friends not to...
Read moreWe stayed at one of the cabins this past weekend and we were highly disappointed. The floors were dusty and dirty upon arrival. But it got worse from there. The pool had foam sitting all on top of the water. We turned the air conditioning on & it wouldn’t cool down. It took over 12+ hours for it to cool down on a 90+ degree day and even then it still wasn’t cool enough. The fridge was the same way, it wasn’t staying cool. We had diabetic medications & baby breast milk in there that was extremely important to keep good! One of the kitchen cabinets was broken when we opened it, the dishwasher had dirty water sitting in it upon arrival & no matter how many times we ran it, it remained. One of the joint bathrooms upstairs shower felt as if it was falling in when you stepped on it. To our surprise once the after affects from Hurricane Ida came in with the rain the ceiling started slowly leaking. We called in with little to no help, the only thing that was really fixed was the pool & by that time no one wanted to get in it due to being afraid what was in it and what it would do to our body and hair. I did not think of taking pictures with my mom brian with a new baby but I did manage to snap a picture of the pool when we discovered it was foamy. When calling in to complain with the high price of the cabin they offered no partial refund for the trouble and seemed to care less about the life savings medications & baby milk...
Read moreI had stayed before in one of the cabins before and it was wonderful, so I couldn't wait to take my 88 year old mother to one. I had searched and re-serched the cabin called "Cabin Fever" and was elated when we actually got it and at such a fantastic price, but my hopes and dreams were quickly put aside! In this day and age, you never even think to ask if they have wi-fi, you just need a code, this was the 1st disappointment...and to move to another cabin, as soon as we walked in would have cost us $300 more plus $100 more for the cleaning crew (there was nothing to clean at that point). The air conditioner didn't work, we three younger "old women" were so uncomfortable we couldn't sleep. the TV's were hard to bring the channels in and to put the icing on the cake, the commode in the twin bed room was so hard to flush, my mom and aunt didn't have the strength to push the lever down, we complained about this and a note was left on our table from the repair crew that said just push the lever down and I felt that was very rude. I would never suggest this cabin to anybody, it's up for sale, I hope the new owners will...
