Let me say right off the bat that me and my family love this place. We've been there 3 times now and each time is a blast. A small word of warning though, while the place is very fun, it can be really pricey, especially if you go with a big party (Max party size at once in a room is 8). A ticket for an adult is about $26 and I think a child (12 and under) is about $21.
The lobby is nice and clean, but a bit lacking in the seating department. The escape rooms themselves are fun, well-designed and thought out. I've come across a couple of props in the room that seemed a bit unclean and had a weird smell, but nothing that particularly bothered me. I will say to anyone planning to go here that 2 of the 3 rooms I've been in had a part where you have to get down and crawl through a small space, which can be a pain for some people. Also, if you plan on doing the Alkatraz room, which is their most popular by far, I would recommend booking in advance, otherwise you may find yourself waiting several hours for the room to start.
The staff is always friendly, professional and helpful. The last time I was there I'll admit that the 3 hints we were given were all pretty much useless but that's alright, just a minor complaint.
All in all, the place is a great way for the whole family or a group of friends to have a lot of fun for an hour. I would definitely recommend booking online in advance, but they take walk-ins and it's usually (in my experience) only about a 20 minute wait if you don't book a room, at least for any of the rooms except Alkatraz.
As a side note, one downside to Trapped is that they don't have a public restroom, so make sure you go before you leave or use the bathroom across the street before your...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time we have gone to this location, the first being last year around Thanksgiving. The first time went well, the staff was friendly and the game was great. This past time though was a great disappointment. On our way to the game we called and the female that spoke to us stated since we were almost there we could have the game at the time we requested. Upon arrival, we told the younger male with shaggy hair at the front what game and time we had been told we could have. He proceeded to tell us he just gave that game away to another group (which is fine as we understand whoever pays first should get the room). While we were trying to figure out if we were going to get another room, another group was obviously upset they had been waiting for some time for their room and asked the male when they could start. The employee started to get obviously upset at the female employee who was not around (who I'm assuming was originally taking care of the group). The male started talking down regarding the female (pretty much saying she didn't know how to do her job) and told the group to come with him. When he returned (still obviously very mad) we advised him we were not going to get a room tonight as it was getting late. He proceeded to stare with the most unprofessional look of disgust and turned away without saying a word to us. My issue was not with the female at all but the lack of professionalism displayed by the male. Talking badly about the other employee in front of 2 large groups as well as the rude attitude towards our group when we stated we were going elsewhere (due to his rudeness towards the other employee and us). Hopefully this kind of attitude will not be tolerated and will...
Read moreWe did the Asylum escape room this day. I've done escape rooms (a total of 5) with two other companies and have enjoyed them. Asylum was the first one I've done with Trapped. I have also done rooms with only friends and family and with strangers. This time the four of us (me, my husband, my daughter, and a close friend) werw paired with six other people we didn't know. I don't mind working with strangers at all and that's not why they are getting only four stars. It's mainly because I feel that the room(s) couldn't support 10 people and the puzzles weren't as elaborate as some of the other companies we've done games with. It was still fun and we did escape, but some members of our party didn't get a chance to do much because of the over-crowding. They did supply us with a locals discount (since we are) for this game and a 20% discount for a future game though. We would like to try the Alacatraz room next.
*this does not factor into the review, but I kind of feel they (all escape rooms) shouldn't charge for kids 10 and under. Our daughter is 7 and she isn't really able to participate and parents can't always find babysitters. At least they didn't charge quite as much as some of the other companies as they did here, but this is just a personal peeve about all escape rooms. Also, all these places really need bathrooms inside them, not where you have to walk out of the attraction which takes away a good 5 to 10 minutes out of your game time (we always go right beforehand, but again my daughter is 7 and even if she goes before, she inevitably has to go again and...
