I think the company as a whole is likely great and the rides are quite nice (though rather pricey for families). My review is for our specific driver whose name (lucky her) I cannot remember. We felt very cheated. That evening carriages were in short supply due to heavy afternoon rain. We were asked to share a carriage ride with perfect strangers. Our family being 6 and theirs 3. I feel that alone should have been a discounted price.
Before the ride began we explained we had a prepaid voucher for 2 kids and 2 adults. Our kids were one adult and 3 kids so we asked if we could use it for them anyway, and my husband and I would not ride. She replied with a hearty, "kids are free tonight (that was news to us) so with your voucher you guys are good. You can all come." We were thrilled so hopped on and agreed with sharing with the other family.
The ride was lovely as expected. No issues there.
Upon ending, we expected to walk away but when we handed her our voucher she said she thought we had 2 vouchers. I reminded her I clearly said our voucher was for 4 people, two kids, two adults, and that she told us with kids being free, our family of 6 could come. Now she insisted we owed her an additional $50! That covers two adults. That means our voucher for 4 covered only one adult (kids being free) and she charged us for 2 more? What? She was insistent and my husband just paid. I only realized later just how much she cheated us. At the very least our voucher covered two adults so she should have only charged us for one, though she led us to believe we'd all be covered. We would have never hopped on if we thought we'd be charged $50.
I'm still sore about this 5 days later. I think she knew exactly what she was doing and soaked us. She made a mint on that ride with two families on board. We should be compensated...
Read moreThe driver of the carriage said he was salty. He made the comment that the carriage in front just got a 150.00 dollar fare. Taking us he only made 50.00 fare. He never introduced himself. After about 10 minutes into the ride. He did tell use about how the horse does not like to listen. He paid more attention to his phone than tell us about the area we were riding through. This was our anniversary weekend. The horse did not want to go when verbally told. so the driver swatted him causing us to jerk in the carriage. We saw several places we could park our car. If you are just wanting to ride the carriage, fine Charlie the horse was good. The driver not so much. Lonestar carriage driver, not very friendly. Not a...

Our tour was with Elizabeth and the absolutely beautiful horse was Queen! Elizabeth was extremely knowledgeable about San Antonio's history, Queen was beautiful and gentle and very friendly my grandkids loved every moment it was their first time so close to a horse, and we will definitely be back more often hopefully with the same tour guide and horse "Queen & Elizabeth" perfect team! thank you for such a wonderful experience....
