Been coming to this studio for 3 years now so it's probably time to leave a review. The TL;DR: it's fabulous, and I highly recommend it!
Longer story: this place has incredibly reasonable prices. I buy the 30 class pack and it averages out to $14 a class, and if you do monthly membership it ends up being about $3 a day 😍. I've never felt financially stressed here in the way I do at some other fitness classes (looking at you $32 boot camps 👀) and it's such a relief for me.
In addition to that, the teaching is top notch. I mainly take classes from Beth, Ruth, and Nicola and I've loved all of them. All of the teachers here point out that the most advanced version of any pose is child's pose, and encourage everyone to take breaks whenever needed. They always offer suggested modifications and it never feels shameful to do a modified pose instead of the full one. The most popular classes can get really full (like the sculpt classes), but the off peak ones (like my favorite 1pm slot) have ample space.
In the last 3 years I've been going to this studio I've really seen my practice improve. Going to the Bikram and flow classes is a full on workout, as muscle exhausting as any of my weight training and distance running workouts, and I've seen a lot of muscle toning and strengthening as a result. (not to worry though, they do have less strenuous classes as well if that's more your style!)
All in all: great prices, amazing teachers, body changing workouts, and a positive and upbeat community of yogis make this my favorite studio...
Read moreI have a passion for cycling, hiking, and the outdoors. In an earlier stage of my life, I raced in triathlons and ran competitively on trails and pavement for long distances. Like so many of us, my work life is often stressful, frequently involves travel, and sometimes requires the transport of more than a few heavy bags. Through the years, I produced classic injuries, stiff, tight muscles, a sore lower back, a nagging hamstring issue, and the need for renewed balance and wellness. I explored healing and rehab programs of all types - pilates, ART, physical therapy, yoga, stretch band routines, and other well regarded programs were all in the mix. There are incredible tools in these areas and gifted teachers to consider. Yet, some of my physical challenges remained.
Over the last few months, I tried a new path. I started working with Chad and other passionate instructors at Body Temp Yoga. My experience has been uplifting. The impact was immediate.
The business is known for the quality of its yoga classes in the main studio. These yoga options are wonderful. For me, though, my best experiences evolved across the street in the small, second studio that's dedicated to wellness and balance. Ah, the power of slowing down. I so, so appreciate the rolling, stretching, and subtle foundation work! If you have soreness, injuries, tight muscles, and other issues in your body that reflect your passion for athletics and tension from the stress of life and work, I strongly encourage you to give these classes a try. My body...
Read moreHadn't stepped foot in a yoga studio in a couple years, was referred to Body Temp as its in the neighborhood and offered a great intro price of $30 for 30 days. 30 days was more than enough to make an impression on me - this studio offers some talented instructors, a very hot - hot yoga experience and an outstanding workout. In fact, in 30 days (I challenged myself to go nearly every day) - I lost 10 pounds, toned my lower tummy, waist and thighs and completely healed my tight joints (damage done as an outdoor runner). My flexibility improved dramatically, I enjoyed deeper sleep, heightened energy, glowing skin, and overall improvements in my sense of well-being. I will definitely buy a package to continue my practice at BodyTemp!
Word to the wise: The Power & Sculpt classes on weekday evenings and all morning classes on the weekends are very busy. They do their best to accommodate all, but it definitely helps to arrive ten minutes early to...
