If you're looking for an amazing brunch spot in San Juan, Donostia is a must-visit! This was our first stop after landing (only 6 minutes from the airport), and it set the tone for an unforgettable trip.
Carlos was our server, and he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He even offered us some fantastic recommendations that made our experience even better!
I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, and we couldn't resist the French toast sticks — they were next-level delicious. Pairing our meal with a margarita and parcha mimosas made it even better. Everything was fresh, hot, and served with care.
We sat outside with our puppy and loved the relaxed, welcoming vibe, but it’s worth noting that this place is pet-friendly indoors too — we saw a few other pups enjoying themselves inside.
The service was excellent, the food was some of the best I've had in a long time, and the convenience of being so close to the airport makes it an easy stop whether you're arriving or departing....
Read moreVisited on Jan 6th my second day in PR. I wanted to see what the vegan options were like. Apparently the chef is vegan that's what I was told by one of the servers. I was actually disappointed with the vegan options once I learned this information. I hate going to a place that doesn't offer bother savory and sweet vegan breakfast options (oatmeal doesn't count).
I ordered the Mamposteo Rice and Tostones with a salad $13 and a I believe a Caribbean cherry mimosa $8. The main dish was delicious, mainly the rice. I would have liked to add beyond burger to it for some additional protein, but couldn't justify doing that for $4 the same price as adding chicken or shrimp. Usually the veggie meat option costs less, but not in this case.
The restaurant is in a great location if you're staying in the Ocean Park area and it's decorated quite cute. The service was also great which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 3.
Edited to respond to the owner I am even more disappointed now because I should have been brought a vegan menu when I told the server that...
Read moreMy first experience here with my friends was great. The restaurant itself was super clean. The servers, and chef herself were very personable and attentive. They were easily willing to work with my friends cinnamon allergy and modify a dish for us.
The food and drinks seriously blew us away in terms of flavor and presentation. Bravo. There is an immense amount of intention put into this place!
We tried the french toast sticks(with blueberry compote) fish tacos, fried chicken wings and chicken and waffles. Everything was cooked perfect.
They offered different: cocktails, coffee, and house made beverages, as well as a spicy house made hot sauce the chef herself concocted. Buy a jar! You'll thank yourself later.
They had a great amount of options for brunch and lunch. And options for vegetarians! Would definitely recommend and...
