Rosalina Ocean Park — Hotel in San Juan

Rosalina was the absolute best choice for my stay! Let me tell you why! It was my 1st time visiting Puerto Rico for our 8th wedding anniversary. I don’t know if it was intentional or coincidence but we were giving Room #8 lol. Small & Petite but perfect for two & decorated to perfection to celebrate our milestone; we loved & treasure that so much! The facility gives Modern, Clean & Minimalistic which I adore with hints of little details of its personality. I definitely took advantage of the stunning photo ops as you can see. The location is in the heart of EVERYTHING! We literally walked EVERYWHERE! Food, Beer & the Beach are about 5 minutes or less away. It was the week of 4th of July & surprisingly we had the pool to ourselves ALOT. I also was super eager to use the pool in the morning at the crack of dawn & the friendly pool boy would give us a thumbs up when we stared out the window to ask if it was ready lol. We slept SO comfortably & appreciated the swift on demand service when we called the front desk at 10pm when we couldn’t find the television remote. In under 10 minutes our dilemma was resolved & the remote was found! Anytime I called, our needs were met in a timely fashion. Like for toilet paper in the morning, delivered to our door & plates when we were swimming from a staff member to eat food we had in our fridge. I loved the little coffee station at the entrance with the delicious cookies which I had to have DAILY on my way out for exploring. Even though the shower’s water pressure was a little low, it was sufficient & warm enough to not freeze but feel cozy; it was just on island timing lol. The ambience is one to experience. You just have to be there to feel it! It definitely felt like home away from home. I will definitely be staying at Rosalina when I come back to Puerto Rico! Which I hope can be...

I have been to San Juan many times over the years. I stayed at Rosalina and it’s definitely one of my favorite spots in Ocean Park. The boutique guesthouse is immaculately clean and beautifully maintained. It’s in a walkable neighborhood with lots of food and a 4 minute walk to my favorite beach. The two pools are a beautiful addition as many places do not offer pools in the area. The courtyard feels like a beautiful backyard. I stayed in unit 5 on the ground floor and loved everything. The room has everything you need. It’s pet friendly which came in handy when we found a puppy on the street. The staff was by far the best part. Jose was an incredible manager who really went above and beyond when I had a very confrontational experience with the puppy owner. He was kind helpful and protective. I felt incredibly safe both bc of the presence of staff and Jose but bc the entire space has cameras everywhere and as a solo traveler that was really so reassuring. Also having a physical key is safer than card entrance. There’s an outdoor shower as well so guests can stay as they wait to depart. The property is designed well and the rooms are a good size. We went as a group and rented out 4 rooms. I got room number 5. The room was minimalistic but fine. The bathroom is tiny. The sink is really small and there was no where to place items like a brush or comb. All of that would have been fine but the water temperature was never warm, I had to take a shower in cold water the whole time I stayed there. In their defense they did offer me a different room two days after I complained however it was 9:30pm and I didn't want to pack everything up and move at that time. They said they would refund me through Hotel.com however it took Hotel.com calling them to get me the refund. Also, the refund was minimal to the amount spent and the lack of comfort for me. The location is great! Walking distance to so many nice restaurants and the beach. The pools and outside are lovely. The email from them and info is nice, I emailed questions before my visit and they answered quickly. In my opinion this place could be stellar. But...they need to fix the water issue and maybe add a few extras...
