This incident happened on 3/18/18 and was the most surreal and concerning customer experience that I ever had. Tried calling the store to talk directly with the manager after the incident but the phone seems to be ringing and no one picks it up. I was buying two lollipops costing $.99. As I was paying to the young cashier lady, there was another employee (or at least what it appeared to be) standing next to her in a managerial posture who told her in a commanding voice "2.99 each". I paid what I was charged for as I thought that I misread the price. However, after going back and double-checking price, I re-approached the lady in a bossy posture and politely told her that I was charged incorrectly. She said very defensively that "in her store" these lollipops were costing $2.99. (As it appeared later her name was Ashley and she worked in another store - though unclear if it was another Black Bear store or some different store).
All until that point it was not a big deal. If someone just genuinely apologized for a mistake and made a refund this review would have never happened. However what happened next, was surreal. As the cashier (young girl) is preparing to give me the refund, Ashley says to her in a commanding voice in my presence "Give her refund so that she does not freak out". Once I heard that statement, I insisted on talking to a manager. I was told that manager Adriana was on break, and could not speak to me. I had to find Ashley's name through another employee as she openly refused to tell me ("I do not work here!"). The other young cashier apologized, but was very protective of Ashley (almost afraid of her) and did not think that it was a big deal.
I hope this review motivates the managers to do something about Ashley's role and ensure that it does not happen again. Such behavior is a sour reflection not only on the store but on the entire SLT...
Read moreFirst off, I will say there is a good amount of souvenir shops in this area, especially across the street from this one at the heavenly village shops. Most of the souvenir shops have a lot of the same stuff at relatively the same prices. So going from shop to shop can get repetitive. But with all that said, in my strong opinion this souvenir shop is by far the best in the area. There's more of a variety of things. There is stuff here that isn't at other shops. And the prices here are really the same as other shops. I'm a Keychain guy. I collect Keychain souvenirs everywhere I go, and this shop has the best Keychain souvenirs as well. Other unique stuff that caught my eye included personalized Lake Tahoe YoYos and a very neat personalized decorative Lake Tahoe Pocket Knife. There is just so much to choose from at this souvenir shop. Sadly, I didn't take any pictures because I was busy shopping, but this shop is definitely worth...

Expensive souvenirs, bad customer experience and pay to park. Come here to be treated bad...
