I’m sorry this is only my first time eating here. I realize making food is what restaurants do, but the food at El Sazon doesn’t really taste like ‘restaurant’ food. Much more like abuela’s kitchen. I annoyed my dinner companions because I wouldn’t stop talking about the sauces, which are fresh, subtle, and excellent. I could tell the meal was going to be good as soon as I had the rice. Fluffy and light. I love restaurants that show love for the fundamentals. A lot of places neglect the rice and beans, and the lack of attention there shows up in all the other dishes. Not the story at El Sazon, man. Everything was made well and with care. I was also digging the fact that I stuffed my face but didn’t feel knocked out afterwards, because home cooked meals aren’t too greasy or over seasoned. Will be coming many times in the future. Read moreI don’t even know where to start. So first things first the food was very and I mean very bland. Starting off when I seen the burritos had lettuce and pico de Gallo I already had a bad feeling about it. Any very good burrito doesn’t have those Ingredients in it. Again the food was very bland not a single bit of seasoning on the meat despite the restaurant being called “seasoning of my land” in Spanish. Where is it at though? Besides that the hospitality was great and so was the service but it ends there. I even ordered a side of tacos just in case and they even managed to mess that up. If you mess up tacos, the most simplest thing you should not be making Mexican food. Some reviews say best Mexican food in town but take it from me that I am 100% Mexican....
Read moreWe came here after a long visit to the DMV. The food was so delicious. We ordered the Oaxacan beef broth. The broth is the star of the show. It comes with pieces of super soft beef, fresh green beans, corn on the cob, and ziccini. The veggies were super fresh. They also gave us hand-made fresh tortillas. The tortillas were made to order and amazing. I got a taco de chorizo, it was great, not spicy just full of flavor. Last, we got a tostada de ceviche. I tend to stay away from seafood but my significant-other insisted that it was delicious so I tried it. He was right. Very fresh and very tasty. I would 100% eat here...
