What are your expectations on a Bagel Shop? For me, a good Bagel Shop should have a variety of freshly backed bagels displayed in baskets behind the counter where you buy them by the 1/2 or bakers dozen. You have the option to order sandwiches and generally have good coffee, and you have a selection of house made cream cheese spreads to choose from.
Dragonfly Bagel Co. Really isn’t a Bagel Shop, it’s a Sandwich and Coffee shop the happens to sell bagels as a side gig.
For example they have a limited selection of bagel flavors and an extremely limited number of each flavor to choose from. We were there around 9:00am with the goal to purchase a dozen bagels to bring home to family. The friendly guy behind the counter informed us we could only have a 1/2 dozen because it would take too much of his limited stock.
Although I’m not sure, I don’t think the bagels were made in-house, they were the west coast stereotypical rolls with toppings added to them. Generally on par with what California considers to be a bagel. Their sandwiches were decent the place was nice and the employees were very friendly.
I would recommend Dragonfly if you are interested in a breakfast sandwich on a flavored roll. Don’t make our mistake and confuse Dragonfly with a typical bagel store that sends people out the door with large bags of freshly cooked bagels with a few containers of fresh cream cheese. It’s just not that...
Read moreLeaving a one star review to warn the public that the gal who made our bagel this morning at approx 10:15 am on 8/17 is so rude & should have no contact with the public.
I asked beforehand if the bagels were cut in half so we could share & were told they are. When I received my bagel it was not cut in half there was absolutely no knife cut. When I approached the counter the nice gal preparing the beverages took my bagel and sheepishly approached the bagel maker knowing I suspect, how the gal was going to react. The gal took my bagel & broke it down the middle with her hands! I watched her do it! It was all jaggedly. I told her I couldn’t believe she did that. She mumbled something under her breath. When I pressed further she said it was cut. I pointed out that it wouldn’t be all jagged if she had.
I would have asked for my money back & walked out but the cashier was busy with other customers.
This person obviously hates her job and should be fired immediately. What would have been the harm in taking a knife & cutting it in half?
We will never return to this establishment and will hopefully save someone else from the headache of asking for a bagel to be cut in half!!
Also, they don’t have any honey...
Read moreThis review is (mostly) not about the food, clearly there are a lot of great reviews about that. This is about the service. We were the only people in the shop, ordered, and waited 15 mins to get our bagels (bagels with cream cheese, nothing extra or fancy). The girl assembling bagels does not wear gloves, she is touching all the bagels with bare hands so be aware of that if that sort of thing disgusts you (which it should). Then she put our bagels in to go bags and set them on a shelf at the back of the food prep area and they sat there for five minutes before another girl came out from the back, grabbed them, and called our name. Please address all of the above and improve your service. And please please require anyone doing food prep to wear gloves. A stranger touching my bagel with bare hands isn’t sanitary. Edit to add: when we got to our destination this morning and sat down to eat our bagels, both had the wrong cream cheese on them, despite us repeating our orders twice each. So this place missed the mark on almost every level. At least the bagel itself was good. But every other above issue ruins the experience. There are better bagel options in town, we’ll...
