I was a guest of Avalon lodge located at 4075 Manzanita Ave, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 on 29th Sep 2018. This is a terrible place and your senses could feel the moment you pass through the hotel drive way. I was extremely disappointed with the poor service and cleanliness offered there. This is the first worst experience we ever had.||||We had 2 rooms reserved for the same day and one of our rooms had a bad shower curtains (with lot of stains/mold). I had an year and half old baby and the bathroom wasn't hygienic for a baby's shower. The curtains had lot of stains/mold. Obviously after seeing that, I approached the hotel front desk at 7 PM to change my room and the staff mentioned the hotel was fully occupied. OK, I then requested to change the shower curtain at least and went off for our dinner. ||||To our dismay, when we returned back at 9 PM, the staff mentioned that they don't had any extra curtains in stock and says they are helpless and that was terrible to hear and was shocked at with that blunt response from the hotel staff to a customer.Can't a customer expect a clean shower curtain from this hotel management ?? ||||And when questioned on why was i not informed immediately when they discovered that they were running out of stock and cannot replace the curtains. If informed early, we could have options to check other hotels and move out of that place. ||||Anyways overall experience to share and hope it helps others not to fall prey to this false advertisement.|| ||It was very unpleasant stay at this place with the staff being very rude.||The bathrooms aren't clean.The hotel pics shown on the website doesn't match with the reality.||||In short, i feel taken advantage of and don't want someone else screwing up their vacation time on these stupid things. My husband and I booked a room for our 10 year anniversary after our trip to Greece had been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We booked an alternate getaway on June 19 for the weekend of June 25-28, well after businesses have the ability to reopen safely and assess their limitations. We received a confirmation 7 days before departure. Then 4 days before our departure, the hotel canceled our reservation. I tried to contact the hotel, but their phone has been disconnected and their website address has been sold. I literally could not get a hold of anyone at this hotel.
Unfortunately, we booked through hotels.com. There is nothing hotels.com would do for us except assign us a voucher to the same hotel at some indefinite time in the future. How am I supposed to visit a hotel that may never be open again!? The hotel canceled us, and they get to keep our money. Unacceptable.
