South Lake Chalet — Hotel in South Lake Tahoe

Our family decided to take a quick 4 day/3 night trip to South Lake Tahoe for Christmas and found this gem of a place. The rooms are exactly as shown on the website. They are small but fine for 2 people. We had 2 rooms Unit 8 and 9. Our son stayed in unit 8 which looked exactly like Unit 9 just configured opposite and with different artwork. We had 2 adults it unit 9 and found it to be more than roomy. We loved the location - within walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, Heavenly ski resort, shops, casinos. Harrahs/Harveys is right there, and Heavenly village with the gondola, shops, pizza, restaurants, etc are all right there so you don't need to use your car much unless you are exploring or going to the supermarket. Everything is within a 10 minute walk and very easy to navigate. Parking is spacious and easy. The locks are easy to use and well explained, although if you travel frequently you will already know how to use these. I prefer these locks so you don't have to worry about losing or keeping track of your keys. All of the amenities are provided - there is a Keurig coffee making and you can bring your own pods or buy them. There is a small fridge with a freezer and a microwave. Soap, shampoo and conditioner, a hair dryer, are provided as well as a few make up remover pads. They left sleep masks, ear plugs and chocolates for us in both rooms. They have outlets with ethernet for your phone to charge. The TV is easy to use if you have a smart TV and know how to use it. We were able to log into our Youtube TV and Netflix with no problem. Good supply of towels. and an extra blanket. The little fireplace really keeps the room warm and cozy. The beds were comfortable. There was the cutest family of raccoons and some other animals - maybe beavers of some sort. Clean, convenient and cozy!

The description was accurate and if anything more comfortable and cleaner than anticipated. The bed was extra comfy, the bathroom was pristine and shower had great water pressure. Brand new appliances in the kitchen with everything you’d need—microwave, a keurig coffee machine (refills provided by cleaning staff), a plug in hot water, basic kitchenware, and even a wine opener that saved us one night. They really thought through the details (even a makeup towel!). Check in was easy and they provide you with all the PDFs to work anything you can’t figure out. It was perfect when we wanted to turn on the fireplace. And the TV was awesome, with all the streaming apps we’re used to at home.

There was a great amount of privacy with good, thick walls. Sometimes you stay in a room and you can hear your neighbors’ lives, here, not so much.

It was a great little room walking distance to the gondola in South Lake, just 5 min like the description stated. Parking and finding the place was very easy.

Even though there was no real outdoor area, just a parking lot with a little greenery and some beautiful redwoods, they provided chairs for outside sitting which made for a nice break from the room and let us soak up the sun one afternoon. They really thought everything through with just what you’d need.

And zip rent as a hospitality company was awesome. Constantly available and very responsive to any need. We were told we’d get an email if we could check in earlier and that email actually came through! Loved this place. Our family went for a quick trip over Christmas. I had stayed in Lake Tahoe a year ago and learned my lesson about staying farther from Heavenly village as we got snowed in and lost power and were not within walking distance from anywhere.

There are a lot of choices in this area but this spot was perfect for us. The rooms looked exactly like they do in the website and were clean and had everything we needed. Warm fireplace, extra blankets, comfortable bed. Keurig coffee maker, microwave and fridge with some plates, coffee cups, and glasses. The TV worked great - we were able to log into Netflix and Youtube TV. We liked having a keyless entry so we didn't have to worry about keeping track of keys. We had a spacious parking space and a smooth check in and check out. Perfect for 2 people.

The shower is one of those overhead ones so my wife suggests bringing a shower cap if you don't want to wash your hair. Also if you need to hang a lot of clothes you may want to bring extra hangers since there is an open closet with about 6 - 7 hangers.

You are within walking distance to the Casinos and a bunch of restaurants, coffee shops and shops (within 10 minutes). Definitely...
