(Stayed early June 2025) The biggest positive was the room size. We had a Deluxe King and there were lots of spaces for sitting and lounging, as well as lots of floor space so that we were not constantly bumping into each other or the furniture. The bed was super comfortable; they had a window fan which helped a lot for keeping the room cool at night; the bathroom was good size (again with floor space for moving around); there was a large U-shaped window seat, as well as a table with two chairs (table large enough for two laptops); the wardrobe closet was spacious and also contained a mini-fridge. Overall, the room was really nice.
Hotel location was also great, with the hotel being located right next to the gondola base and next to a meandering river with a walking path next to it. Main street is only a couple of blocks away and there are many great restaurants in town and a few up in the mountain village.
However, there were two really big negatives for our stay: The first was that the internet went out sometime during the first night and was out for most of the weekend. While I could connect my laptop to my phone's hotspot, the TV was an entirely WIFI setup and I was not going to run the TV off of my data plan -- thus we had no TV after the first night. The second negative is actually pretty major IMO: The bathtub/shower is basically a law suit waiting to happen. The tub is sloped at one end, to provide for better lounging. However, there is no roughness of any sort on the tub bottom and the rubber mat was pretty small. Thus it was a bit difficult to move around without your feet managing to hit some part of the slick porcelain. Given there was also no grab bar on the wall and trying to grab the shower door just made it open outward, a shower became a somewhat dangerous event. I almost fell twice in the 3.5 days we were there. Like I said, "a law suit just waiting to happen."
Overall, I would have rated the hotel a 4, but I really feel that the two negatives were pretty big, especially the shower issue. Side note: When we checked out the hotel did refund our parking fee and resort fee due to the wifi issue - so kudos to...
Read moreThis was a very expensive hotel and the only positive part of the experience was the location. It is in Telluride right by the gondola. The room was not fancy at all and did not even have a mini fridge, which is surprising for a resort town. Our room faced the street. There were windows all around and a beautiful view, but then the blinds did not close all the way and the room was totally lit up all night long. We woke up early too because the sunlight came in. The bathroom, however, did not have good lighting at all and you could barely see to shower and brush your teeth. There was a balcony that I wanted to sit on, but it had a big ash tray thing that was never emptied and smelled so bad we couldn't use the balcony at all. The front desk staff was very, very rude. It was our first time to Telluride and we had some questions. One guy made fun of my husband when he said he would park the car and then go to the gondola. The desk clerk said in a nasty manner that you can't take a car on the gondola. We just wanted to know where to go. Another clerk was asked for dinner recommendations and he made it clear that we were like bugs on the ground that he wanted to squish. We made the reservations on the phone, talking to a real person and getting information. But we didn't know, until we got a bill, that there was a $50 resort fee!!! For what??? It was not a resort and it was not worth what we paid. Go to another hotel and give this...
Read moreStayed one night, Tuesday September 26th 2023 as part of a 10-day Fall color road trip through Colorado.||Stayed in room 207, which is a large room with large patios. ||Room had a single King bed, large closet, large bathroom, a small round dining table inside and some tables outside. Also had a fireplace, I thought it had a refrigerator but I don't see it in the photos.||Cost was just over $500 including resort fee, taxes, yada yada yada ||Location is great because you can walk pretty much anywhere in town and you're right next to the interconnect tram that goes up to mid-station (Allred's Restaurant), and over to the mountain resort Village. ||There is underground parking, however the transition angle from the ramp to the the parking level is semi-severe, so if you have a low ground clearance car (like I had) it may not work for you (fortunately there was a street parking spot directly in front of the hotel). You can sort of see this on Google Street View. ||The front desk person (John I believe) was super nice ... we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the hotel ... We didn't really use any of the amenities, hot tub, etc., as we arrived about check-in time (4:00 p.m.), and left relatively early the Wednesday morning to take a circuitous route back to Aspen ... through the canyon to Gateway, to Grand Junction, and then via the Grand Mesa Scenic byway...
