For real, this coffee was delicious. I would recommend anyone try The Coffee Cowboy when they're in Telluride. The wait was terribly long for just me (and my well-behaved dog) = 1 coffee. The customer in front of me waved down every person she knew coming off the slope which made her small order turn into a very large one. She kept adding drink after drink to her order which left me standing there thinking, wow, she could have let me go in front of her knowing it's just me and my dog here for a coffee. Her and all the people walking over to her in line started petting my dog, everything was great. So once her 15+ specialty drinks were ordered, it was my chance at the window, or so I thought. I stepped up all excited, only to be told, it's going to be a minute, I have a lot of drinks to make. Yep. So, I had to wait even longer. And, yes, I wanted this coffee, so I did. I waited. Luckily, I was able to really dig in to the menu and I actually changed my mind on what I wanted multiple times, so it all worked out. Heck, I was in Telluride. I got my iced lone ranger, tipped $3 and walked off. The barista was by herself, taking the orders, making the drinks and handing them out. She was hustling that morning and I can appreciate that. I share my thoughts and this story to remind others of social etiquette and to be polite and thoughtful....

Upon ordering a simple drip coffee, we requested a shot of oat milk, in lieu of cow’s milk. Upon payment, I noticed that the there was an extra charge ($1.00) for approximately 1 tablespoon of oat milk? Really? Yes, I can afford an extra dollar, but I thought this is quite ridiculous. Then, the rude girl hiding in the back, blurted “ the $1 charge is listed on the menu”. NO, it was not even listed on the menu!

  1. the girl in the back was self-righteous, rude and needs to study the coffee menu and take pride in her employer’s gift of employment. Perhaps, a course in customer service might serve her well, too!

  2. You charge extra for a plant-based milk, which is morally, ethically, the right thing to do for the animals and planet, than cow’s milk.

  3. I work for an industry that provides jobs and revenue for Telluride and I will be NOT-recommending this business any longer!

  4. It amazes me that ONE SINGLE EMPLOYEE can either provide a wonderful experience for many customers for many returns OR break a business by word-of-mouth bad...

I tried to ask for recommendations because I had ordered a white chocolate Tall and it tasted gross. So I went back up and asked what would recommend and she just said a coffee with half and half. And basically said are you okay with me helping the next person in line while you decide even though I clearly needed help cause I ordered what I thought would be good but it was basically just black coffee. I don't want to spend more money on somthing I apparently had no idea what it was. Just think it was rude. And before you asked I wasnt rude I was...

📌 Save for your trip to Telluride, Colorado Here are 8 itinerary stops for your next trip to Telluride 👇 1. Ride the Free Gondola 🚠 America’s first, and only, free Gondola transportation system. It goes 11mph, takes 13 minutes, and one the best parts is that dogs are welcome! It’s one of the most beautiful views you’ll ever see from a Gondola. 2. Hike in the San Juan Mountains 🏔️ There are several hikes to choose from but we recommend the Blue Lakes Trail. It’s 8.7 miles with 2509 ft of elevation gain and the views are breathtaking. 3. Stay at the Mountain Lodge Telluride 🛎️ We had the absolute best experience staying with @mountainlodgetride- where cozy meets luxury. It’s conveniently located in Telluride’s Mountain Village! The staff was unbelievably accommodating, the rooms were just perfect and cozy, and the amenities were so nice! We really enjoyed the relaxing hot tub each night. 4. Grab A Latte at The Coffee Cowboy ☕️ As you step off the gondola in downtown Telluride, turn right and you’ll find @thecoffeecowboy truck! I enjoyed a breve with Irish cream flavoring. 5. Walk the Quaint Streets of Downtown 🌳 There are so many cute shops and yummy restaurants in downtown, not to mention gorgeous mountain views! 6. Go Out For Pizza At @browndogpizza 🍕 Who knew there would be award winning Detroit style pizza in Colorado?! We were so impressed, it was the perfect treat after a day of hiking! We recommend the Brooklyn Bridge (tomato sauce / mozzarella / ricotta / pepperoni / sausage / garlic / pecorino Romano cheese) & the 3-1-3 (ricotta / garlic / mozzarella / salami / Calabria red chili peppers / piquante peppers / basil / arugula / Parmigiano Reggiano / evoo) 7. Hike the Bridal Veil Falls Trail 🥾 This shorter hike (right by town) leads you to three beautiful waterfalls. It’s 2 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 859 feet. 8. Stroll The Riverwalk 🍁 There is a lovely trail along the river that is dog friendly. We were here during the fall season so the leaves were gorgeous. It was so nice to just listen to the river and enjoy a nice walk. Tag someone who needs to visit Telluride, Colorado with you!

Need an afternoon pick-me-up in Telluride? Swing by the @thecoffeecowboy at the base of the gondola and grab an Annie Oakley (latte with caramel & cinnamon) or a Butch Cassidy (mocha with Irish cream syrup) on your way back from skiing or on the way up to the @townofmountainvillage ☕️🤌🏻❄️

Right next to the free gondolas, Coffee Cowboy is the perfect place to get some joe before heading out to the slopes or the mountain village. They have 5 or so specialty lattes that rival Yetis Grind in the Vail Valley. I personally love the Annie Oakley (caramel and cinnamon). The baristas are nice and there's no better place to wait for your coffee than right at the bottom of the slopes, looking up the mountain.
