Floor & Decor, Colony, TX has an in-house 3rd party contractor Evan (DFW Hardwood Flooring). This review and rating is about Evan. Since Floor & Decor, Colony provides him space in their store, recommends him and encourages their customers to use his services, they are accountable for his unprofessional and irresponsible service practice. BEWARE : I am giving here a detailed account of my experience with Evan (DFW Hardwood Flooring) for your awareness to make a wise decision. I recommend you to use others (professional, ethical, hard-working and honest service providers in DFW area) for your flooring and other projects. I signed a service contract on Apr 11th, 2024 with Evan(DFW Hardwood Flooring) through 'Installation Made Easy Inc.' for $2300 (for labor only) to install tiles as part of remodelling shower. Evan told me (not in the contract) all plumbing work (installing shower head, valve, handle) will be my responsibility. He sub-contracted this work to someone else. Few guys showed up at my door (not sure they were insured/licensed and which company they belong to). While removing existing tiles they broke the shower drain pipe (which was fitted under the wooden shower floor). Evan refused to take care of this saying 'he will not do any plumbing' , regardless of the fact the pipe was broken by his sub-contractor. I filed a claim at Installation Made Easy, which they rejected saying Evan explained to them he already informed customer that 'anything broken during installation is customers' responsibility' - which is not the truth.Do you think any customer would agree to this kind of terms ? I need to pay $375 to a plumber to fix the drain pipe. I need to spend $600 more to fix the drywall and paint ceiling for the hole under the drain pipe. Evan did not communicate to his sub-contractor about the shower design we explained and agreed upon. This created a lot of issues for us to explain and oversee the job with the spanish only speaking sub-contractors that Evan sent to us. Evan never visited to check on the job. His only follow-up with us was for his payments. CAUTION: After reading all these, if you still decide to go with Evan (DFW Hardwood Flooring) for your floor, tile & other projects, you may want to consider these : 1/ Get in writing from Evan about 'who is responsible and accountable for any damages caused by his team during the project?' 2/ Who are his sub-contractors ? Are they insured and licensed ? 3/Break down of cost estimate, details of work, time to start and complete the work, process to verify completion of work as per your design 4/ Read through his 'Service Contract' carefully and do not sign without getting written explanation from Evan if you have any questions/clarifications. Good luck!

From a long time we wanted to change our kitchen builder grade ceramic tiles and put porcelain tiles. When we finally wanted to do the project, we went to floor a decor and selected our semi glossy floor tiles and glass backsplash. We are use to walking on the glossy tiles before coming to USA. When we went to buy the other day, looking to load the tiles to the cart, one sales associate with scarf approached us and started asking what are we looking, we told we have selected and came to buy. She asked what for and by looking at the our selection she raised her eyebrows that we selected glossy and she told she will match as per out counter and cabinets (ofcourse we also did the same in our way). She showed us Matt bathroom tiles and said this is what is used in the USA for kitchens and we felt we may be wrong, and went with her design and recommendation, we installed the same. Now It’s a big disaster in our kitchen. We are still okay with color but tiles finish is really horrible. I feel like walking on the outdoor tiles. It’s very very rough. Also mopping is as if on the outdoor. Mop doesn’t glide on it (steam mop). It’s only good to pressure wash not at all to mop. We regret that our dream of changing floor was taken over by a random person who has nothing to do with it and changed everything and we have to live with it for years to come with the dissatisfaction and disappointment. 1st pic was associate recommendation 2nd pic was the disastrous outcome 3rd pic was our selection (backsplash luckily is our selection. She recommended white hexagon) 4th pic was the available stock that we almost booked at the checkout. And we were misguided our selection looks horrible and given the Matt white which holds up dust and dirt strongly (good for bathrooms) 5th pic dust and dirt marks on the Matt finish tiles catch and and are very badly visible when compared to little glossy as glossy do not catch them.

My claim number is 02362831

After a long dispute and a lot of frustration Floor and Decor found a loop hole to void a warranty. Shame on Floor and Decor.

Lisa Laube and executives - I initiated a claim in July 2020 with Floor and Decor on products I purchased at the Colony, Texas location. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed with the after sale customer service. I was sold products highly recommended by the Floor and Decor "expert" personnel, to whom any customer would rely on, this product was not only inadequate but also defective. I have provided plenty of pictures. An inspector was sent by Floor and Decor to the house, the details on the inspection were communicated over the phone by Amanda Cochran, these details were inaccurate, and had missing information which I can prove and have stated in my email to Floor and Decor. After over a week from my last email Floor and Decor has finally responded and found a loop hole through a faulty or biased inspection to avoid providing any type of warranty and I am being asked to pay for a second inspector to reopen the case if I choose to pursue, obviously with no guarantees. This is extremely unfortunate to hear. I have been a loyal customer of Floor and Decor and cannot believe that the company or employees show no loyalty to their customers. With huge sacrifice I spent a lot of money, for me, on product and installation of flooring with a 40 year warranty which now has to be replaced less than two years later. Soon after the floor was installed it started showing signs of defects, needless to say I also have wood for over five years and this shows no issues.

I find it very hard to understand how a 2 billion dollar revenue company fails to provide decent customer service to loyal customers, shows no accountability on the products they sell and employees recommendations as well provide no warranty. This is extremely discouraging to any customer especially when it's not $50 dollars that are in dispute. I want to believe that it's not the company but rather the employees not caring enough about the reputation of the company they work for and I hope I am right but afraid I am wrong.

I have stated the floor is currently a hazard in my home and has already caused several of us in the house to trip and fall. Unfortunately due to this, I have no choice but to cover the expense of removing old Floor, replacing it and have it installed just to make sure we avoid any further more serious accidents in the house.

Although it seems Floor and Decor does no care for my business I am never ever buying anything from them again for any upcoming home...
