Review for 10/28/2023 Stopped by dinner on friday evening with my family. We were seated right away. Ordered Herbal Chicken fried rice spice level 4, Drunken Master noodles spice level 4 and Pad ke mao non spicy for kids to share as they do not have kids menu! It took them atleast 15-20mins to serve food to our table. Fried rice and noodles were very bland, spice level around 2. Kids noodles were good! We asked for spicey oil for additional heat, but the lady who took the order was gone and did not even show up. She came up after a bit and realized she did not bring us the spicey oil. She then vanished again and stood by the bar and ignored our request. People sitting next to us requested for the same and they were kept waiting as well. We had to ask another waitress for it and she was very quick to get us the spicey oil. Extremely disappointed with food and service, it is not acceptable. I am not going back again! ————— Went back after 4 years with friends, we were seated promptly, there seemed to be just one wait staff catering to everyone, so it seemed a bit slow. We ordered corn fritters and tofu satay, they were just okay. For the entrees we got red snapper fish, parata and curry, curry fried rice, pad kee mow and tom yum soup, it was all delicious. Took away one star for the appetizer. The thai tea was good. Will definitely recommend this place.

My family and friends recently dined at Ocha Thai in The Colony, Texas. While the overall experience had its positives, there were areas that could be improved. We started with the dumplings, which were tasty, but the portion size of four was smaller than expected – other Thai places usually offer six. In comparison, Simply Thai's dumplings were preferred for their better texture. The papaya salad was decent but lacked that special touch to make it memorable. The Tom Kha Gai soup, ordered at spice level 3, was good and hot. However, I would recommend going for spice level 4 for those who enjoy a bit more kick. The Ocha Thai fried rice was satisfactory, though it didn't stand out as exceptional. The Thai tea, while not bad, missed that distinctive Thai tea flavor. It's worth mentioning that everything served at Ocha Thai is halal. Service, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. While functional, the lack of warmth and smiles made us feel more like a burden than valued guests. Some training or improvements in service etiquette would go a long way. In conclusion, I recommend trying Ocha Thai for its decent food. However, there's room for improvement in various aspects, including service, to elevate the overall dining experience.

The panang currie is really good. i stopped by to get something to go. the guy that took my order was not wearing a mask. i asked him if he needed one. he said he had one.im changing my4 stars to 1 star for nomask. nov2,2020 my last review. i has panang curry with calamari. Last time I ate here I tried to order it with calamari but they said they could only do mixed seafood. SO i had mixed seafood last time. as a side note, It seemed like the same mixed seafood you get a Costco that is from India, but I didn't ask so i can't say that it is, but it seemed the same. This time she said she could do just calamari so I had panang curry with calamari. The panang curry is really good. The calamari was a bit rubbery but at least it did not smell fishy. It was satisfactory. I've had bad calamari at several places and it smells fishy. This one wasn't bad. I asked for sticky rice instead of jasmine rice. They both cost $2 on the menu as extras. They gave me sticky rice and charged me an extra $2 so my $9 meal was $15. +$4 for the calamari and +$2 for the sticky rice. They did not give me the sticky rice as extra rice, they did not give me the original rice that came with my meal. So the $2 sticky rice was all i got. I said something to the waitress and she said, too bad. Do you want the other rice to go? Seemed wrong but i let it slide. I am craving that curry. I want to go back. I'll just know if i want sticky rice, they need to also bring me the regular rice that comes with the meal as I had to pay for it. I had spicy level 3. It was just perfect. It was not so spicy i couldn't eat it and it was spicy enough i was sweating. My friend got medium spicy, #2. He thought his was just right too. I just went back again today. I ordered to go this time. I got both the rices, sticky and jasmine. When you order to go you don't get the 'soup'. The soup of the day is coconut soup. My favorite. The man that took my order brought me a bowl that i ate at the bar. It was so good. Coconut soup, just the right spicy. i was sweating, but it wasn't hot in my mouth. Yesterday it was tom yum soup. That was really good too. It wasn't as spicy. The coconut is my fav. My new...

I used to LOVE Ocha Thai! I religiously went there every single weekend and ordered several entrees for my family. We always get the Pad Kee Mao, Singapore Noodles, and Massaman Curry. Recently, we were told new owners were going to be taking over.. went in today and got the usual but did not realize how different the taste and quality would be. When I checked the singapore noodles they were flat noodles (they used to be traditional vermicelli). This was my fault for not double checking for changes on the menu but it would have been nice if they would have mentioned that these are now made with egg added and flat noodles when ordering over the phone. The owner kindly offered to re create the singapore noodles using a similar style noodles and that was very kind of him. The taste was definitely different however. The pad kee mao was ordered with extra veggies and had 2 pieces of broccoli and a few bell peppers and carrots... there was one piece of basil and it hardly had any flavor. It definitely wasnt the extra veggies I paid for. I was already a little thrown off with the huge difference in Singapore noodles.. and then that happened. Also, the Pad Kee Mao now has mushrooms in it which is different from the usual. Overall, it was super disappointing. The ingredients and flavors were much different and I feel like the owner and person taking my order could have done a better job about offering a heads up regarding all the differences. Not sure why the owners had to fix things on the menu that "weren't broke" but I am pretty sad about it all. I sadly, after years of being a religiously dedicated and happy customer, will have to find a new Thai...
