Great location, right off of Bridge Street and Gore creek. The rooms are large, and it was nice having a balcony overlooking the creek. But….here’s the list of why I give this two stars. The second bedroom has a window looking into an interior courtyard, which is lit up all night. It’s impossible to sleep in that room. The condo has not been updated in a long time - sagging beds, smelly refrigerator (had not been cleaned in a while), uncomfortable furniture …lots of annoying features for $500/night. They offer a extended hours continental breakfast, which was awful…one person walked in and left shaking their head. There was hardly anything to eat, and the packaged breakfast burrito was disgusting. Being close to the village was nice, except you hear all the drunks shouting. That and the highway noise can be disturbing for light sleepers.
All in all, it depends on where you set the bar for lodging in Vail. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location is very convenient, parking is free at the Vail garage, across the street from the hotel. They have EV chargers on the street. The rooms are large and you can get one with a mountain and creek view (extra $$$ of course). During the summer, the hotel is right next to the start of the Sunday Farmers Market - so you can buy something for breakfast. If you are willing to put up with some low-end features, it’s not a bad place since the prices are equivalent to most of the other...
Read moreI have mixed feelings and thus a mixed review on this Hotel/condominium! Its just at the edge of town and thus very convenient with a few minutes walk to shops and restaurants but its also close to the freeway. The potential freeway noise should not be a problem but herein lies an issue - the hotel does not have air conditioning. This may be fine in the winter months when only heating is required but in the summer its another matter. So the only way to reduce the temperature in the room in summer is to open a window to the noise of the freeway To cut a long story short and after quite some discussion, we managed to negotiate a room on the opposite side of the hotel which allowed us to open windows to get the temperature down to something reasonable. The rooms we experienced had large lounges and well equipped kitchens so well suited for families or long stays. The bedrooms and bathrooms were on the small side. The included breakfast was the usual plastic affair provided by so many hotel chains. Essentially, a trash generator. Parking is in the Vail public lot 2 minutes walk away. Its $25 a night in the summer but the hotel covers the charge. In summary, OK for larger groups as long as you stay on the mountain side, at least in...
Read moreVail’s Mountain Haus is a good place overall to stay by the mountain. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and fairly spacious. My basic room even had a fireplace and balcony. The issue with my room was that the thermostat would not go below 74 no matter how hard I tried. I had to slightly open the balcony screen door to keep the room cool. The staff couldn’t fix the problem and eventually stopped trying. Besides that issue, everything else in the hotel was good. There’s plenty of amenities including a fitness center, free hot drink machine, and a great spa area. The spa area has a sauna, steam room, massage room, indoor and outdoor hot tub, and an outdoor heated pool. There’s also a ski shop right in the hotel if you need to rent skis. The location is very convenient and the prices aren’t too bad considering that. Besides the issue with my room’s thermostat, my stay at Vail’s Mountain Haus was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend...
