Belmont Inn and Suites — Hotel in Virginia Beach

again stay away from this hotel the roaches really come out at night so bad to the point we have to keep all the lights on because if we. Turn them off we would wake up to a house party of roaches. This right here is just during the day everywhere can’t even walk off from your drink or food for 1 second without coming back to roaches in it. This was my cup of coffee that I was having for breakfast because I was too upset to cook anything. Yeah I know it not much coffee left in the cup but I was going to finish that and couldn’t because the roach finished it for me. Again I was not going to put this hotel on blast but after last night I asked to help the owner wife clean the room a little bit I was only told to sweep next thing I know she had me doing everything she had me deep clean the whole room. Cool no biggie I did cleaned my a$$ off because I told by the owner he would pay me in cash and I really needed that money so yeah I worked for it. After me doing my deep cleaning that they only gave me 10 dollars I confronted the owner which is the lady’s husband I told him everything I did and his wife did nothing I told him that I was informed that I only help her a little bit sweep that’s it but she had deep clean the whole room while she stayed downstairs doing whatever. He offered me 5 extra dollars. At this point I’m thinking this is a joke so yeah I got upset started to yell a little because it’s like I just worked for free. He gets mad tells me take the 5 dollar or leave it. Tells me he will never ask me to clean for them again. Sir you don’t have to worry about that because I never was after this mess no so me cleaning for y’all ever again you don’t have to worry about. He starts to wave his hand at the office door telling me to get out walking towards the door as I was walking out then says that he wants us gone by Monday. this is unfair wrong in so many ways I feel like I basically did that deep clean for free. Next time now because of situations like this I will always have my phone and recording. Please stay away from here leave bad reviews anything to get place shut up down. The wife who does house keeping uses the same rag to clean the toilet on everything else like the bathroom sink and kitchen sink and looked at me like I was crazy when I told her that was disgusting and that I needed more rags. The location was great. Everything else was incredibly disappointing. If I could give a negative star rating I would in a heartbeat. I know this is a budget hotel in VA Beach, but C'Mon man! In short, Would I recommend this hotel? Never in a million years. Here are a few reasons why:||The room was the worst room I have ever seen as far as cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep. There were roaches and bugs/spiders crawling everywhere including inside the refrigerator. There was black mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. There was also an actual hole that had rotten through the shower ceiling from above. I was honestly worried that the second floor bathroom might collapse on me while I was taking a shower. The state of neglect of our room was truly amazing. I honestly think that if an inspector were to walk through what was trying to pass as a livable room, they would not have a second thought about placing a condemned sign on this place. At least the AC was functional.||Very, very noisy in the room. The building is only about 20 yards from a very noisy street, so don't expect to get much sleep with the thin walls and the drag strip out front. Then there were the beds themselves - old school even for the 60's. I woke up with a sore back every day. The blanket on one of the beds had holes in it from old cigarette burns. We used that bed to store our luggage on to keep it off the floor so as to avoid taking any of the local wildlife/critters home with us.||The old addage "You get what you pay for" certainly rings true for this gem. My girlfriend let the building manager know about the state of our room and asked if he knew that there were bugs in the room and he said "No bugs, no". Complete denial.
