JR. MARKET #5 — Local services in Virginia Beach

I wish there were an option for no stars, because not only the owner, but the employees are the rudest people ever.. Worst Jr. Market EVER!! Employees need a few lessons in customer service, as well as the managerial staff. Besides the price gouging, and the lack of cleanliness inside and out, the employees make this place terrible, the one named Melody, especially. She cussed me out, after I told her she needed to find a new job because of her lack in customer service skills. She runs to her boss on her day off and as I pull up, tells her I was cussing her out and not the other way around like it actually happened. her coworker had witnessed how rude she was the last time it had happened, but only other customers had seen the first few times this lady copped an attitude with me. I wish the guy that had witnessed the worst night when this employee had first cussed me out, had been there in my defense. That night as we walked outside, the other customer that apparently has had issues with the same employee, expressed his disbelief stating, "She always has an attitude, but she really has an issue with you!" I don't know if it's because I have dreads and date a black guy and she's racist, or what her problem is, but she needs a new line of work. This store should be shut down...

I absolutely love jr market. I have been coming here for actually 20 years now. I'm only 24 but I am local to Virginia beach and was born and raised in the shadowlawn neighborhood. Never in my entire life have I been spoken to so rudely by a store clerk. I simply did not bring my ID. Virginia law states that if I'm under the age of 27 and don't have an ID I still need to be carded no matter what... I understand that. All that needed to be said was that. I simply was stating that I had been coming to the store for 15+ years and buying tobacco and alcohol products here for several years now and I'd think by now someone would know me well enough. The woman got completely offended, took everything I said the wrong way, and went on with some tangent about how I was harassing her... I honestly am hurt by this experience, she really made me feel unwelcome in a store I have grown so fond of through my nostalgic childhood years up to date.... I might not come back...

Was going to eat at the shadow lawn eats and I guess we accidentally parked in the wrong spot even those the signs on the floor aren’t legible. So as I’m getting my child out of the car a lady comes running outside very rudely saying “you need to move your car” I said “why” and again she replies rudely “because you’re parked in my spot”. There’s a right and wrong way to do things and that was definitely the wrong way. All she had to say was “hey maam that’s not the right spot for the restaurant can you park over there” but you running outside automatically telling me I need to move my car? No hi hello excuse me like come on now I know we were all taught...
