Overall a good experience but just not someplace I would recommend unless you're in unfamiliar territory & want a good steak.
Let's start with experience-there is a person standing in the lobby & holding the door open that you are supposed to check in with; but they don't greet you, so you have to know to check in with them if you don't online or you have to go back to them to start over. The entire wait experience kinda makes you feel like a salmon swimming upstream as you are bumped closer to the seating area. Our wait was good for 7p on a Wednesday but still about 15 minutes. For my sensory sensitive folks-this is so not your spot. It's always incredibly loud. I have been to this location several times & seems to consistently be.
Cost--I felt okay with the total quality of food, but in no way is this a good deal. We ordered an app to share & each person a meal for a table of three, we paid $30 per person.
Service--decent but not great. Our server was fine but two tables near us were sending steaks back multiple times in an attempt to get free meals, the result for us was not being able to get refills on drinks even. Frustrating with the cost.
Food--good enough. Steaks were cooked to what we ordered & on point. Not great cuts but what you expect for a chain. The other two tables that had issues were fairly blatant about attempting to start trouble. Salads were pretty standard, nothing special & they were basic. Sides were okay but bland. But because I had bad experiences two nights in a row I want a good steak and I thought okay where is the best place I know I'll get a good steak Texas. WRONG! I was unbelievably dismayed about the service the food I have eaten at Texas Roadhouse 30 or 40 times. When I got there and was seated at the table they had no rolls I asked my server to bring regular butter because I don't like these cinnamon butter and he came back 3 * 1 time to take her order but not one time did he bring rolls I had to ask for them every time. And it wasn't like they were out of rolls I had seen people seated after me getting rolls. I ordered a frozen margarita and it came out on the rocks and most of the salt had melted off the rim and if it had any alcohol in it, it's had evaporated from sitting so long. The steak was good but the vegetables were almost raw and I've eaten these vegetables many times before I had to wrap my fist around my fork to stab them in the carrots. in another time during the meal I had to ask again for rolls and I had to ask just some girl coming by who went and got him and brought him back. The Texas Roadhouse in West Wichita is excellent but this one was terrible I will never eat there again and it wasn't because they were so packed it was not full. Read moreOk. Let’s take this step by step. Placed an online order through the restaurants direct website. I was quoted over an hour wait for to go. I called to cancel and was connected to the two go team “”. The team member I spoke with promised me that they could do my order within 30 minutes and I agreed. 20 minutes later I received a text that my order was ready so I walked over to pick it up from the hotel adjacent to the restaurant. This was a two minute walk. I ordered my meat rare, which means cool red center according to their description. When picking up my order, I verified all the specificities with the to go person, and I was very impressed that everything was taken care of! Returning to my room, I opened up my to go order ready to eat on a nice rare steak. I was overwhelmed within anticipation and received severe disappointment that my steak MISTAKE was not only rare. It was medium to medium rare! I’m included in photo of the steak with this review. I don’t know if I’ll visit this establishment again, the service is probably the only reason I’ll be back. Next time I will cut the steak before I take it to go to ensure that is done correctly. I have not and will not call the manager of the restaurant just to complain.
