I usually dislike...nay, I usually STRONGLY dislike...eating at hotel restaurants. Typically far overpriced for what they provide, I rarely even consider them. What possessed me to go here tonight I do not know. It was a serendipitously uncharacteristic choice. And it was really, really worth it.
My server was a young man who moved here for the weather. Sort of. (You’ll have to ask him. ;-) Pleasant, attentive, friendly, and courteous, he pointed me toward their “Lamb T-Bone” plate. I must admit my initial thought was that it must be the most expensive plate on the menu, as lamb sometimes is. I was pleasantly surprised to find this was actually not the case at all. He spoke glowingly of the plate and I so I succumbed.
I dare say this was the best lamb I recall eating in recent (last 5 years, at least) memory. It was excellently cooked, wonderfully prepared, and perfectly complemented by the accompanying vegetables and garnishments. I second his recommendation very, very highly.
Next time through town, I’ll be looking at...
Read moreCONSUMER BEWARE!!! I came in with 3 friends and sat at a table away from the bar. I walked up and ordered 4 drinks and left the tab open in case I wanted to get more. While there my friends each took turns getting rounds. So I only ended up getting the one round. At the end I closed my tab. I noticed before signing that the bill was pretty high for 4 drinks. And there was no itemized reciept. The bartender was surprised by me asking to see an itemized because the bill looked too high. He printed it out and then I saw the EXTRA charge they put their OWN 18 percent tip in and called it a LARGE party gratuity. Remember there were only 4 of us and we did all the work going up to the bar and ordering and bringing the drinks back ourselves. Four people isn't a large party and had I did what I normally do which is leave a tip and sign I would have double tipped. And the choice of how much on the bartender. THIS WAS EXTREMELY SHADY I RECCOMMEND EVEYONE CHECK YOUR RECIEPTS. AND I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE FOR...
Read moreI really liked my friendly waitress. She was nice and gave me suggestions when I asked. Plus she was easy to talk to. She didn't rush me and got me my food in a timely manner. The decor was very fancy. I don't know if it's fancy for anyone else but I don't usually eat in places that look this nice. I had a ceasar salad with chicken. It may not have been the most expensive item on the menu, but it was made really well. In fact I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because everything seemed a little more expensive than I wanted to pay. I have no doubt it would have tasted good. It was just not in my price range. It would have been nice to see more options for items at less than a twenty dollar range. All and all though I would tell people looking to have an intimate dinner, a business meeting, or want a fancy dinner this is a good...
