My wife and I booked a night at the Red Garter for October 19, 2021. We used the code to get into the building mid afternoon and we were the only ones in the building.||We went out for a few hours and came back to relax before we went out for the evening. When we arrived back at the room at about 4;30 PM there was a worker painting some kind of a solution on the sidewalk across the front of the building, and he told us it was lacquer. After about an hour and a half in the room the fumes became very strong and we were experiencing headaches and we were becoming disoriented. I called the woman who sent us the code to check in and told her we didn't feel safe and we were leaving the building. She said she understood and said she would send me an email acknowledgement in the morning when she gets to the office. I never received that email and sent her a message a few days later to remind her to email me something to say we would be getting a credit from the Inn. She then said the owners would be in the following Monday and they will take care of it. I didn't hear from the owners and waited about a week then contacted the woman and she gave me no satisfaction. She started off by saying she looked up the stuff they were using to paint the sidewalk and it wasn't lacquer. I didn't care what it was...all we knew is we had headaches and we were disoriented. She then said we are going to have to be patient and became very condescending. Never once, no matter how hard I tried, did the woman or the owners get back to me. They didn't give a dam. After about a month I filed a dispute with my credit card company and after about two more months they finally settled it with the Red Garter Inn. I hated to have to go through the credit card company but since the Red Garter Inn couldn't care less about us, I'm glad that we did. The right thing to do would have been to apologize to us and immediately credit our credit card. Instead we had to go pay for a different hotel and never received a courtesy communication from them. We were on a 9 day road trip and the other hotels and airbnb's were terrific. We are in our 70's and have never complained about our hotel rooms or airbnb's. ...

Read moreWe did Route 66 and ended up in Williams as part of the route. This was booked by our agent hence we had no idea what to expect. However, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. This was our favourite hotel by far along the many we had stayed at en route. The interior decor was amazing. In fact, I fell in love with the carpet and started looking online for it to potentially get the same one for our home which is also a Victorian property.
Check in is easy. Since we didn't book it direct, we needed to call a number displayed on the door for an access code. Our room was all ready with keys and info relating to the property's history. We also got a discount voucher to use in the restaurant just below.
We only stayed there one night but would gladly have stayed longer. Room was spacious, bed was comfy and cool. If we didn't want to use the AC, there was the ceiling fan. Everything was on the hotel's doorstep... Restaurants, a multitude of shops, a zip line just opposite (if that's your thing) and free parking right outside.
If we ever return to William's, this is the only place we would stay.
Thank you so much for a...
