TL;DR: Star Hotel Route 66 in Williams offers a budget-friendly stay with a great location, but thin walls, a tiny bathroom, and missing interior lock were major drawbacks. Star Hotel Route 66 in Williams is a centrally located, budget-friendly option with ample parking and convenient access to downtown businesses. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and I appreciated the raised bed design. However, there were some notable downsides. The walls are very thin, so I heard a lot of traffic and noise from other rooms. The heater didn’t work well, and the bathroom was extremely small. My biggest concern was the lack of an interior-only lock on the door, which had been removed. This became a serious issue when someone was incorrectly assigned my room while I was sleeping, leaving me feeling panicked and unable to sleep well. While the location and price are positives, the security issue is something that needs addressing.

It's a fine little motel. I got there very early and they had my room ready anyway and let me go in which was a relief. It was me solo so just a small room, nothing fancy. Everything was clean, bed was good and TV was fine. Shower was decent and I really liked the sink. Bit thin walls but that can't be helped too much. The two people running it were quite friendly and helped me quickly when I locked myself out(lol). It's in a great location, I could walk just about everywhere I wanted to. Didn't start my car for days. The only reason I knocked off a star was every time I interacted with the lady running this place, she mentioned me writing a review. Mentioning it once at check-in or check-out is fine, but we interacted maybe 4 times and she brought it up every time. It was a little awkward, to be honest. Either way, it's a good cheap way to stay in Williams for a couple days and escape the heat.

This is a historic hotel in the heart of Williams, location, location, location. It doesn’t get any better than this location. You can walk to the train in less than 5 minutes. There are lots of shops and restaurants literally outside your door. The Room is very clean and updated. Bed was very comfortable. There is a fridge, microwave and coffee pot available. A/C worked good. Tv was nice sized and plenty of channels. Room and bathroom were a little on the smaller size but we don’t need a lot of space, we just need a nights sleep so it was perfectly fine for us. Honestly when I read other reviews it amazes me what people complain about. The towels were very nice not threadbare as soon report. For the price, I doubt you will do any better. I’ll definitely stay here again. Check in was easy and desk representative/owner very nice.

We stayed here for two nights while we were on a road trip from Ohio to visit the Grand Canyon. We had always wanted to stay in Williams, and this motel offered great rates and a perfectly central location on the strip.||Check-in was quick and easy, and the gentleman was very nice. He told me he was giving us two rooms -- still considered one room but beds in two separate rooms -- and I thought that sounded great. The room was in the older section of the motel, with parallel parking outside the door.||Layout of the room was, well... odd. The first room had a high bed, the TV, air conditioner, and a tiny little sink in the corner. Half the room was carpeted while the other half was laminate flooring. There was also a table with one chair. The other room was originally part of the room next door, although it had been reduced in size and didn't have its own outside door, nor did it have a window or air conditioning. It had a bed, a light, a dresser and a fan. ||Between the two rooms was a teeny, tiny bathroom with a walk-in shower (which was very nicely done with stone flooring and walls) but the placement of the toilet was right in the middle of the room with the towel rack covering up the light switch. Access to the bathroom was from either of the bedrooms, but the sink was in the main bedroom so anyone staying in the second bedroom would have to come into the main bedroom to use the sink. A little weird.||The rooms were both nicely updated and all, and they were spotlessly clean. But with the layout, having only one chair and TV, and no A/C in the second room, I'm not sure I'd want to stay again if given this same room or one like it. But the value was great and the location...

Absolute worst experience at a hotel I’ve ever had.

My friend and I tried to check in at 9:30 p.m. and the staff was nowhere to be seen. The office was unlocked and there were cars outside so I knew they were open, online it said check-in was 11:30 p.m. So, we arrived went into the office and waited. There was a button on the desk that said “Ring, and someone will be with you shortly”. My friend and I waited a good 15-20 minutes hitting that button and eventually calling the number that was on google. We found out that the number we called was in the office we were standing in and of course no one was there to pick it up.

We decided after that, that we would stay at another hotel for lack of service at the current location and the fact that we had driven 10 hours to see the Grand Canyon. We ended up staying at the Red Roof Plus who were more than accommodating. In the morning I attempted to get a refund since the charge was already pending from this location (Star Hotel).

When I called, I was surprised someone answered and was also surprised by the unprofessionalism of the lady I spoke with. I told her what had happened, and she said I was lying. She began to tell me that someone is always at the desk until 11:30 and proceeded to laugh at me saying she wasn’t going to refund my money. After that interaction I decided to call my credit card company to dispute the charge.

As a disabled veteran I’m not only angry but disappointed in how I was treated and hope whoever stays at this location gets better service than my friend and I. I will not stay here again...
