Bed bugs.... and also had my husband pay cash to get the "discount price". Said the ATM was just a minute down the road but ended up being a 10 minute walk down there. The innkeeper/night time manager came over to the car while I was waiting, alone, to try and give me the key to the room. To be fair, I'm know he was trying to be kind and let me in to the room, but when you're by yourself in a new place at 11 o'clock at night, having a strange man coming up to knock on your window is terrifying. When he left, I got out to let my cat out of the car on his leash, but wasn't going into the room until my husband got back. I felt weird going into a room we hadn't yet paid for. The man came back quickly to warn me about the manager's dog that lived in the house by the hotel, so I waited on the second floor by our room (I believe it was 217/207?... anyways the building that runs adjacent to St. Lewis street on the second floor, farthest south). As soon as I saw my husband coming back with the thumbs up, I went to unpack the room. I turned on the light, but it was broken. I thought about asking to change rooms, but it was late and we were exhausted. I walked over to turn the bathroom light on. After bringing in the rest of the luggage, I pulled back the covers in the bed and noticed they didn't have fitted sheets. To be honest, because everything had seemed a bit off with the whole experience so far, I decided to check the whole bed. I pulled them back, and I saw it immediately. The mattress had blood/feces stains all along the crevices. Not only that, but there was also other stains all on it. I had to grab my cell phone and turn on the flash to double check. Sure enough, bed bug stains with giant yellow stains all along the mattress as well. After having my husband double check to make sure I wasn't crazy, he confirmed and we decided instead of asking for another room we would just ask for our money back. (Or I did at least, I was starting to have a break down since I didn't want to stay there as soon as he asked for cash). As I packed the car my husband went to talk to him. They were in there for some time and then came out because the man wanted to look at the room. However, when they got to the stairs, but man suddenly turned around and said that he had given us the smaller room because he knew we wanted the discount, but he could show us the bigger room he had. Essentially he refused to go look at the room with my husband and was just trying to give us a "new deal' with the bigger room. My husband kindly told him that we would just like to go, that we didn't want to even say anything, just take our money and leave. The man led him back to the office, where he tried to convince him to take the other room again. Then he showed him the contract (of course the fine print) saying he can't give us a refund. He said only the manager could authorize such a refund, and he was just the housekeeper (which just really blew my mind because in that case he would have known the bed was infested/stained and sent us to it). At some point, he told my husband he would give him $20 bucks back and tear up the contract so that "no one would know"--- which, again just upset me more because then he was essentially swindling us out of $60 bucks over a contract he was holding over our heads that he just tore up..... and if he WAS the housekeeper, what proof is there that he didn't just pocket the money for himself? When I noticed something was going on, I got out of the car and went inside. When I came in, my husband trying to quickly just take the money and usher me out, I turned to him and asked "What's going on? Did you get a refund?" As my husband started to say "Let's go..." , the man turned to me and said "So, you didn't like your room?" I quickly turned to him. "No, no I didn't like the room. There are bed bugs". Then he said "Oooohhh, too many bed bugs for you?". I was shocked. So, if staying in Williams, be sure to call ahead to get another motel, or grab the Motel 6-- they gave us clean beds& a...
Read moresteer clear from this place. we did a last minute decision coming from GC to stay overnight since we were going a 9hr drive with 3 small kids. this was the only one i could find through expedia but since cellular data was in n out i ended up calling and booking over the phone. the lady was nice but the room (rm 111) was beyond reason. it looked neat at first but after staying in for 10 mins me and my daughter started getting runny nose from all the dust. dusty beds. dusty headboard too which i only found out because i took a shower and my 1yr old played with me while i sit back to the headboard. she touched the ledge of the board and man it looked like it hasn’t been wiped for years and that’s not exaggerating! the carpet since we only had shoes my kids removed theirs and right away their feet started itching. the toilet seat was broken. you sit and you slip either to your left of right. it was a struggle just sitting there for a minute. the AC was old. it worked when we first came in. turned up the heat and it was ok. but we only found out it was blowing directly on one of the bed when we were about to sleep. couldnt turn it up because it would blow directly on us and get super warm and get sick for the dry heat. while the other bed was freezing cold since the air cant get past ours. the sheets are so thin. they provided ONE comforter which we were scared to use since it looked like its been sitting over the open closet for a while. i ended up waking up every hour because i was so uncomfortable with the cold/heat. come 5am i couldn’t stand seeing my kids still trying to warm themselves with the thin fleece blanket provided for each bed so i ended up using the comforter to warm them. it wasn’t as dusty as the head board but made me sneeze so much. what i appreciate was the coffeemaker was clean. it was clean. and i like to keep things clean. no smell. no water stains from previous use or what. toiletries are only good for one. so we had to request more which the lady manager provided cheerfully. blowdryer fell apart right after i took it from the holder. had to lock in what seemed to be a loose air filter there. the bathroom was ok clean. old but clean. hot water was ok. hard to get it figured out but we eventually did so our hands wont freeze or get scalded from washing. plenty parking for all units i believe. felt safe throughout our stay. walls are pretty thin. we could hear the other room peeps. overall it was a safe place to stay but paying $70 for a night of allergies and mixed warmth or cold... not worth it. go elsewhere. i would have had my kids not been so tired from...
Read moreStayed here March 1 2024. 1 night, part of a longer trip. Winslow day before to grand canyon and stayed here that night before heading west on 40 in the morning. It's about an hour to the grand canyon from the hotel. Stayed in room 109, next the breakfast room and close to ice machine. Pretty town, fun location. Steak houses across the street, a dispensary in walking distance, a saloon, shops close enough to walk to. Had food delivered to our room from a local restaurant. Staff in office was friendly. Both a woman at check in and a man at checkout. This is a no frills hotel. It's cheaper than others, older, and a bit worn. That being said, it was clean and quiet. Didn't feel like I was in any danger at night in the parking lot. Nice tv with direct tv service and the HBO/Max package. Breakfast was basic. Cereal, muffins, donuts, toast, juice and milk. The bed was comfortable, an extra blanket in the closet. Fridge in the room. The only odd thing I found was the microwave is outside, by the breakfast room.
This was day 3 in a 7 day trip. My previous 2 nights were in major chains, Cortez CO and Winslow AZ, this was the best night so far. I only leave hotel reviews for great experiences, and really bad ones. Writing this from night 4 in bullhead City and all 4 hotels so far are getting reviews, America's best value inn is the only one I have nothing bad to say about. Considering a longer stay in the area for more time at grand canyon next summer, this will be where I stay if we...
