My boyfriend and I were visiting the Grand Canyon and needed a place to stay. We found the American Regency Inn through Expedia for $40/night. We booked it and paid for it ahead of time based on the positive reviews. The good points are that the room was very clean, it was small but a good size for just the two of us. I liked the window in the bathroom for the cool breeze to come through. The WiFi worked good and you couldn’t hear the neighbors through the walls at all. The only bad thing I noticed is when we arrived to the front office to check in, the office had a HORRIBLE smell that almost caused me to turn away. The only reason I didn’t walk away is because I had already paid in advance and couldn’t get a refund. The front office smelled so bad I literally had to hold open the door to let some fresh air in while We checked in. Other than that, it was a nice little place to stay and is close to the freeway, restaurants and within an hour to the Grand Canyon National Park. I don’t think I would stay here again just because the office smelled so bad. Price was good though. Also, forgot to mention, there was no chain lock for the door to our room. I would have felt safer if there had been a better lock.

Arrived at 4pm, entered the front office. I was greeted pleasantly by a young man running the office and my check in took less than 3 minutes. I must admit, I was VERY hesitant about staying here however, this place exceeded all my low expectations of motels. I've had bad experiences with small motels and took a deep breath before turning the door knob to my room. I tapped my key card opened the door and was surprised at how nice the room was. A 2 queen bed, very large tv at least 50". Clean, nice and well cared for. I made the mistake of staying 3 days at a local Williams Hotel connected to the train service to the Grand Canyon, I could have stayed here and saved hundreds of dollars. My one pic I have provided was after I laid down on the bed, jumped up because I had to to take a pic and review this diamond of a motel. Upon first entering everything was perfect. Basic, clean, well maintained, helpful front desk staff. Will be returning for sure.

(Pictures of bedroom 110) Please read the reviews and save yourself an unpleasant stay. Staff was unprofessional and rude. I was for well over 20 minutes ringing the bell and calling hoping someone would show up and nothing. Disgusting is near nothing of how our "Delux King Room was." The sheets where dirty, sandy and with bugs. Seems like they just somewhat made the bed but w/o changing sheets from the prior guests. There was hair EVERYWHERE from walls to the towels and of course over the sheets. They seem to love recycling so much that they left us a used bar of soap inside the shower! The floors where dusty as well as the entire room. Just look at the picture of the hair dryer. We couldn't lock our bedroom from inside so we had to barricade to get some sense of peace. Just a nightmare. Please just go somewhere else it's not worth the few dollars you are "saving "

We stayed there the night of 12/27/23. The temperature outside was below freezing around 27F. The heater went out middle of the night and later the power went out as well. The room started to get cold, and there were no additional (back-up) blankets in the room. I put on all the jackets we got but worried it might not be enough, and that we might catch a cold during the night. I called the front and they said they are working on resetting the breaker. After about 20 min, the power came back on and I had to turn-off and then turn-on the heater for it to work again. This power going out and on happened about 4 more times that evening. Each time, I had to reset the heater for it to work again; and each time not knowing if we will have heater for the rest of the night. It has caused us unnecessary stress, inconvenience, and not to mention it could outright be dangerous with no heater in freezing temperature. The heater finally stayed on for the rest of the night, but I could no longer sleep peacefully not knowing if it's going to go out again. If you are managing a motel in a place with freezing winter climate, you ought to make sure your heater better be in working condition. And how feasible was it to change motel in the middle of a freezing night in a tourist place during the holidays? The next day I asked the front how would they compensate for what happened, the young man said he had fixed the problem and so won't give any credit or refunds or partial refunds. I said I'll call my credit card company. He said he has my signature for the charge, so he is not worried. Won't ever come back even if they pay...

We had a warm welcome despite the last minute booking and late hour, after a 4 ½ hour drive, having evacuated from the Grand Canyon North Rim fire. Our host was very kind and generous. I’m not saying you should plan it that way, but this motel is ideal if you have a late arrival. Most reception/ check-in desks in Williams shut at 11pm. We headed back to Williams because it was safe and had tourist amenities, but most importantly, American Regency Inn would still be open.||||Comfortable room with large comfortable King bed. Proper heavy wooden furniture. Good air conditioning. 2 chairs & 2 bedside tables with ability to charge phones; fridge; soap and sachets of other toiletries. Immaculate sheets and towels. Possibly the bathroom floor could have done with an additional sweep, but otherwise was very clean and exceeded my expectations. Very generous with coffee and other amenities in the room. We mentioned something extra, that we wouldn’t necessarily expect, and he brought it to our room straight away.||||I read a review which mentioned stuff outside the room. We wouldn’t have noticed the few leaves which must have blown over during the day, but our host was sensitive and picked them up. I feel petty mentioning it, but some readers might want to know that particular point has been addressed. Far more importantly, it illustrates an attitude of listening to feedback and taking action. ||||The quality of the room was good, and yes we were lucky to find somewhere that we could check in late, but it was the host and his outstanding customer service which were the game changer. We would absolutely stay here again as our...

Unorganized and unsafe. I'm sure there's worse places but this has been my worst experience personally. For starters, I don't think they always collect key cards or change door lock readers between guests.

I booked two nights here. On the way there they said they were trying to call me because the room I booked was now under maintenance. I never got a call, email, or a voicemail. They moved me to an upgraded room free of charge.

However, maybe 30 minutes after bringing my stuff in, I'm startled by 3 people trying to open the door to my room. Mind you it's about 10pm and I'm alone. After looking out the window later I found out it was a family of 3 who'd booked my room and I was probably given their room by accident. Simple mistake I guess, but that's one of 3 major issues.

  1. I left my wallet in my room after I'd left for the day. When I came back, room service had returned it to the desk but the $40 left with it was not found (of course). Was a little frustrated, but blamed myself.

  2. The last straw was when I returned the evening of my 2nd night to find a couple already in my room. Apparently the person who returned my wallet told the front desk I'd checked out even though I still had my key card (and it still worked!) They reimbursed me, but I pretty much had nowhere else to stay for the night. I got so frustrated I just said forget it and drove 3 hours home even though it was late.

They still never asked for the key card back. I still have it and I'm sure...
