The stay at this hotel was a disaster from start to finish. ||We drove 7 hours and arrived at the hotel at 4:00 PM. Check-in time is 3:00 PM, and our rooms were not ready. We had two connecting rooms. Really? We were told another 10 minutes and to wait in the lobby area and they would call us when they were ready. Finally, after about 15 minutes we received our key cards to enter our rooms. Upon arrival to our room, we noticed the door was not fully closed and the door jamb looked as if it was forced open. Well, the maintenance person told us the door lock and card reader were broken. HUH? Why would you check us into that room knowing this was the case? So, I head back down to front desk and was given the story that they just found out about it and would give us two more rooms, but had to wait another 10 minutes for them to be cleaned. The front desk clerk told us he would bring our key cards down for the new rooms after they were programmed. Wait, what? It's now 15 minutes later and the rooms were still being cleaned and nobody showed up with key cards for new rooms. I walked back down there, even more pissed at this point, and the story continued. The front desk clerk said I was just on my way to bring you the new key cards for these rooms, and I just got message that they are ready. Finally, now we were able to get our rooms two hours after check-in time. Not a great first impression.||The hotel rooms were rather small, and we had a lot of noise from the room above on the second floor. Don't recommend a first-floor room at all. There are no closets and just a few hooks to hang clothes. ||The indoor pool is not heated despite what website says. We went in the pool, and it was rather cold. The showers outside the pool did not work, and towels were tiny.||The website says hot continental breakfast UM, yeah, no. The scrambled eggs were like crumbled in pieces and dry, the sausage were overcooked and hard, and the breakfast potatoes were horrible. Your best option is a bagel and cream cheese or make your own waffle station. ||The restaurant is all Indian based food, and didn't even attempt to try it. It was rarely opened anyway. ||Some of the hotel rooms appear to be under renovation. The native-american workers that came in the morning at 6:00 AM and were very noisy!! They were smoking cigarettes and marijuana right outside the door in the parking lot and gathered near a car. When we informed the front desk clerk, he said he would talk to them about it, but that never happened either. They were back at it the next morning. Thankfully, we were out of there the next day.||The front desk clerk screwed up our reservation when we checked out. He charged both rooms on one credit card instead of separated out. He had all of the correct information as well. We had to call the day after we left to talk to somebody else to get it straightened out. The double charge on the credit card with the guests who traveled with us, had to have a credit applied, and then the charge for our room charged to our card. It was a mess!!!! ||Needless to say, if we ever return to Cape Cod, it will never be at this hotel again! Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU STAY...
Read moreMy partner and I wanted to visit the Cape and MV for our anniversary this weekend and we settled on this hotel for one night. We were a little nervous because of mixed reviews. We reserved the executive suite but for some reason it came with two queen sized beds instead of one king sized bed. The hotel was very nice to have our room ready for 1pm when we called ahead and allowed us to check in early. The room was spacious! It had two sinks, one in the bathroom and one as soon as you enter the room. I like that a lot because of time and efficiency when you’re getting ready to go out with your significant other. The living room area was cozy and the beds were decently comfortable. There were two mini fridges and 2 TVs, though we weren’t there long enough to really use them. The rooms are also microwave friendly. I understand what people meant about privacy with the bathroom door. It slides but doesn’t lock and there’s a crack in the door, plus everything is heard through the room, so tip: run the water if you want privacy on the toilet. The shower had heavy glass doors so required light handling when opening and closing. We did see 2 pieces of hair in the shower, which was concerning but nothing we were tripping over. I was however a bit freaked when I saw a spider crawling on the wall and my bf needed to kill it. The windows have blackout curtains if you prefer to not be disturbed by daylight. However please be warned the fire alarm is a real thing!! Thankfully we were already awake and packing when it went off at 10:36am, but it went off for ten minutes straight. It felt a bit loud and obnoxious and had me wondering if this was a ploy to get people out early. I also didn’t enjoy being able to hear everyone from outside our room. We didn’t consume any food from the hotel but dinner smelled good when we came back from dinner ourselves. The pool is on the same floor and everyone walking into the hotel can see people swimming, which doesn’t feel very private. I didn’t try the pool or the gym either. There’s a bar as well which is cool but we were preoccupied with our itinerary elsewhere. For breakfast we were able to walk right across the street to a great restaurant. Highly recommend that over continental breakfast. Would I stay here again? Not sure. But it def wasn’t too bad...
Read moreMy stay at the Aiden by Best Western @ Cape Point was extremely frustrating and disappointing and I would not recommend this property to anyone. My stay began with an evening arrival after a long drive. We planned to have dinner in the website advertised restaurant, but were told there isn’t one. The room lacked a closet and a chair or coach to read. The fitness center lacked water and cleaning wipes. Telling the staff about this on our first day lead to no reconciliation during our 6 day stay. They had no policy to clean rooms during the our stay. The COVID policy says staff wears masks, but no staff were seen wearing them. There were no warm complimentary breakfast options and the cold options were wanting. Two days before we departed, we noted the hot water supply was waning. When we contacted the front desk, they were “working on fixing the problem”. The next day there was no hot water, which when we informed the staff they said they were only informing new quests about the problem. When we checked out, we hoped to receive financial compensation for the lack of hot water on a room costing $368 plus taxes. The check out person said only the general manager could deal with the issue and I should call and speak to him. Several days of calling resulted in the general manager not being available and they would leave him a note to call me back. The GM has no voicemail and doesn’t respond to emails. He never contacted me. Calling Best Western corporate offices said they could not refund money or tell the general manager to contact me. I have never been to a hotel chain with the absence of an onsite general or assistant general manager to handle problems. I would avoid staying at this property which is advertised as a “new, modern boutique hotel with a cool laid-back personality.” Yes the property was new and modern, but it was awfully large and missing charm, luxury, intimate experience, and personalized service for a boutique hotel. I left wondering whether cool referred to the lack of hot water and laid back referred to...
