El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Yarmouth

Me and my Wife came to the cape for a little down time, with my job I travel all over the US and she travels with me. I just left Texas after 3 years working there to come to Boston for the next job. Well let's start with my hotel is 3 mins. Down the road from this establishment and we place a pick up order, they said it would be ready in 15 mins. So I arrived in 15 minutes and picked up my order and returned to my hotel in 3mins. To find that my order was wrong and the food was cold as if it had been setting out for a bit. The Mexican food was not even average, I mean it was bland and nothing like the Mexican food I have eaten in many other states. I'm so disappointed and called them to tell then just to here what you always here today, come back and the next the meal will be free! We'll life is to short to try something that is not worth your hard earned money the first time to go through that again. Save your money and go...

Went for dinner last night with my daughter and 4 grandchildren. Prices were outrageous for the quality of food. The enchiladas were not even cooked, the shredded cheese inside the enchiladas was not even melted! The queso dip was thin and runny, we were told the reason for this was because it was "freshly made". The server was working the bar and the tables, never refilled our waters, didn't put in one of our entree orders, and then brought out two entrees that were not what we ordered. The reason for this, so we were told, was that there was a new chef in the kitchen!! After we finished this very dismal meal the waiter/bartender brought us a flyer to use on our next visit. Imagine our surprise that Monday was kids eat free night--- we ordered adult entrees for our grandsons to share and the server/bartender never mentioned it was kids eat free night!!! Bland and flavorless. We were served chips salsa and beans (?) which I appreciate are complimentary, but it was the WORST salsa I’ve ever had. No flavor, no heat and it smelled weird. I had to ask for the salsa to be moved away from me because i couldn’t stand the smell. I don’t know why they give you beans because they are just gross, and I love refried beans. We got the steak fajita tacos which also were lacking in flavor and seasoning. The rice was passable, but the tacos were disappointing at best. I’m all fairness, I will say the plating was done well and the presentation was good. The service was inattentive- an empty glass sat at the edge of our table for more than half of the meal and we were never offered refills on drinks, which may be because the server never checked on us throughout the meal.
