Dollar General — Local services in Yarmouth

My first and last time. I was so annoyed that I forgot to take pictures. As soon as you walked into the store there was no one to greet you. Also the line was very long and hard to distinguish between the line and all the piled up surplus they had to restock the shelves. Every corner you turnt the items were either misplaced on other shelves, the clothing or items on the floor, and even to the point boxes were stacked up on wheeled carriers which could have moved and knocked a child over or injured an adult. The place was junky. You had no where to walk and there was no help. The only person I seen was one lady with a black shirt on that had dollar general in letter writing. She was just walking around from isle to isle and no she wasn't a security officer. I waited on line for almost 30 minutes. If my daughter didn't need the items I would not have stayed or shopped at Dollar General. That was a bad impression for a first impression. I really look at the establishment differently. If your shirt staff you have a responsibility to make the store a safe place to shop. The merchandise should not be thrown all over the floor or found in different areas of the store where they are not located; this represents poor management. Thank you, I will not shop at this establishment it shows me that you are not clean and the products are not clean. It shows me that my health or other consumer's health doesn't matter and the Pandemic is real whether you have the shot; doesn't protect from all strands and that applies for this who don't have the shot. Dollar General puts you more at risk for getting sick. Shut down for a day and get that store in order it has a lot of potential to be a successful essential...

I went one day, this past fall, and I was using my phone to send a text message. I had been asked by someone who was home and not feeling well, if I would stop in to pick up some soda. The store happened to have a big soda display just outside the door that was on special..yes outside the store... I was texting the types of soda so that my friend who was home sick in bed, could tell me which to buy. Yes texting. TEXTING....I should not have to explain to anyone, who I was texting, and why....anyway, I was stopped by an irrate and screaming man working for Dollar General, and he was SCREAMING at me and SCREAMING...he wanted to know why I felt it necessary to take a photo of him smoking a cigarette ....omg... I was clearly texting. TEXTING. Also, he wasn't anywhere near me, or the soda, and I never saw him or his cigarette until he came over screaming and he screamed "I am calling the police." This couldn't be any more bizarre. I left. This was so far beyond insanity. I wasn't even inside the store !!!!!!! On top of that, has anyone ever heard of not allowing texting when you're shopping ????? I wasn't even in the store !!!!!! reasonable customer service is non-existent at this store. I didn't even see him smoking, and I could have cared less if he did smoke a cigarette. Maybe the smoke has finally fried his brain. I will never return, and will spend my money elsewhere, and at businesses who would encourage assisting a customer to make a selection for purchase.... but it won't be here. Many other stores encourage cell phone use by customers and even provide Wi-Fi. I never heard of...

I have had nothing but a great experience with this store, each time I have been there. A wide variety of items & good prices, especially when a sale is on! This store is also clean. Important, b/c when you’re in a store that is dirty, dingy & in disarray, you just want to leave it, over shop it. The employees are very helpful & friendly. And can’t say enough about the manager, Mark, who has gone above & beyond, for customer satisfaction, multiple times. He’s always been patient & kind towards his employees when they have had questions or problems, explaining everything well, so both they & the customer, understood fully. I know when I go, or call, I’m going to be treated well & encounter smiling, friendly, helpful staff. I always look forward to shopping there. Especially when I want something Spiritually uplifting/God centered, as they carry a good selection of wall hangings, with a wonderful message. A great place to find that perfect gift that will last a long time, bringing comfort, hope & assurance to someone who may need it, or a knowing smile, to someone who just...
