Hanoi Serendipity Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

Upon arrival to check-in, the hotel was already fully booked. Apparently when we booked online, someone came booked in person at the same time. They attempted to notify us by email but we were on a plane, etc. The hotel offered us to stay at their sister hotel Phoenix something (around the corner), but it turned out that one was full too. They hotel arranges for us to stay at another hotel nearby called ROSE HOTEL. ROSE HOTEL was an absolute disgust. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I left a review on it already. Very dirty, maybe not cleaned in a month, dirty used glass in bathroom, etc. No soundproofing on windows from the constant noise on the street. We really should not have been sent there at all compares to what where we were supposed to stay... But atleast they helped arrange something.. Serendipity Hotel was absolutely fantastic. Extremely clean. Clean bed and rooms and facility. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was great every morning. Highly recommend this stay. However, upon checkout, we still were billed full price of their nice hotel for our stay at the very bad Rose Hotel from our first night.... Not cool. Este hotel ha sido la peor experiencia de Vietnam. Fue nuestra primera parada del viaje y nos timaron. Lo primero que hicieron nada más entramos por la puerta fue preguntarnos si teniamos reservada alguna excursión, que sería importante que la reservaramos cuanto antes ya que estaban muy solicitadas. Les pedimos tiempo ya que estabamos cansadas del viaje y con jet lack. Cada vez que pasabamos por recepción nos volvian a insistir utilizando todo tipo de argumentos (que iba a empeorar el tiempo, que ellos nos habían reservado una escursión buenisima que confirmaramos cuanto antes para no perder la oportunidad...). Nos dejamos engatusar por la sonrisa constante del recepcionista y por un catálogo que nos enseñó mostrando unas fotos de ensueño.||Para nuestra sorpresa, cuando quisimos reservar cada vez nos iba subiendo más el precio porque resultaba que no quedaba sitio en los barcos más economicos y porque estaba todo muy solicitado (después comprobamos que era todo mentira). Confiando en el chico y en su buen hacer, decidimos reservar a pesar del precio desorbitado que nos dijo, pero la ocasión lo merecia, además, cual profesional nos fue aumentando los precios poco a poco y presionando mucho. Cuando lo reservamos no nos dió ningun tipo de recibo, se lo pedimos e hizo como que no nos entendia y volvia a enseñarnos el catalogo... Cuando llegamos a la excursión a bahía de Halong, resultó que nos habia reservado un barco de gente joven con música a toda caña 24 horas, (para nada la excursión relajante que nos prometió). Sorprendidas preguntamos al resto de excursionista por lo que había pagado por la excursión y resultó que a nosotras NOS COBRARON 200 EUROS MÁS A CADA UNA!! ||Nos sentimos super estafadas. Volvimos al hotel a hablar con el recepcionista y justificó que hubieramos pagado más de miles de maneras y ninguna con sentido. Sólo espero que los 400 euros que ganó los haya compartido con el resto de...

Excellent value hotel. Great location on quiet street. Very friendly staff! Nice hanoi-style skinny room, bed, window with ok street view & even small bathtub! Elevator. Quite local foods in free buffet breakfast & also made-to-order dishes. They took us for breakfast at a different hotel as their cook was sick for 2 days. 1st-3rd May 2019 there was a lot of loud construction sounds right next door in the day & early morning, but not so much at night. Should be like this until they finish the building next door. A heavy sleeper might sleep through it. If no construction I would give this...
