Lovely hotel in the heart of the old quarter, it’s tucked away in a quiet alley away from the noise, some trendy restaurants and cafes on the same street which is worth a try.
As a family of four (two adults and two children aged 6 and 10) we had the 7th floor to ourselves with connecting rooms. The views looked over alleyways and towards the Roman cathedral. We never heard any noise from anyone above or below us and no external noise, its surprisingly quiet for a hotel located in the old quarter.
Rooms were lovely with large comfortable queen size bed, air condition, limited hangers though, they do have an iron but you need to ask at reception. Bathroom was okay, seems a little run down, the shower was either too hot or too cold. Some sockets didn’t work and no USB sockets. There is a kettle with available tea and coffee, we received new bottles of water everyday which was a bonus. There is a mini fridge, but we unplugged as it was very noisy.
Location is great, all within walking distance to main attractions. From Friday to Sunday there is a night market which is worth visiting.
The staff at the hotel are amazing, so friendly and always willing to assist. Wi-Fi is hit and miss in our rooms, might be better in the lobby. The breakfast is in a different hotel which takes less than 1 minute to walk, it’s does an okay spread, but is limited. Not a lot of hot food options for vegetarian. But overall it does the job, my kids loved the pancakes.
We didn’t use the laundry service in the hotel but found a local laundry service nearby, which by the way is very cheap and efficient, take your clothes in at 10am and ready to collect by 5pm.
Highly recommend this hotel and would...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Legend Boutique Hotel in Vietnam, and I can't say enough about the exceptional staff. Despite our early check-out and a late-night flight, the staff graciously allowed us to store our luggage in the hotel lobby, freshen up, and even rest in the reception waiting area.
One standout among the team was the Receptionist, Moon, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. She was not only friendly and helpful but also treated my baby as if she were part of her own family. Moon's warmth and kindness were truly heartwarming.
Throughout our stay, we had many questions about local attractions, and the staff, including Moon, always did their best to assist us, even overcoming language barriers by using their mobile phones and maps to guide us. Their dedication to ensuring we had a wonderful experience was evident. I was deeply touched by the extent of care and kindness displayed by MOON, our exceptional receptionist. On one occasion, she even insisted that I could leave my baby to rest in the hotel reception while she personally looked after her, but I never did. However, her willingness to go the extra mile exemplified the outstanding service at the Golden Legend Boutique Hotel.
I must also mention Tracy, who was on the morning shift. She consistently ensured that we had a good night's rest and enjoyed our breakfast. It was clear that all the staff members at the Golden Legend Boutique Hotel were not only friendly and helpful but also incredibly respectful, making our stay truly memorable. Their exceptional service elevated our trip and left a lasting positive impression. Thank you to the entire team for their outstanding...
Read moreGolden Legend Boutique hotel is located perfectly, only a few minutes walk from the lake, the night market , Hoa Lo Prison and also walkable to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex. Although it is located so close to all the places we wanted to go to, the street itself is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are spotlessly clean and exactly like in the photographs. Breakfast that is served a couple of bulidings down the road had an excellent range of choices. The staff are some of the nicest people we met on our trip. We over estimated the time it would take us at immigration and, in addition, our flight to Hanoi landed half an hour earlier than scheduled; as a result we reached the hotel way earlier ( 4 am ) than our check in time. They facilitated an early check in for us as soon as a room was vacated. While we waited, Ming gave my partner company and me, a blanket while I rested on the couch at the reception and also made us tea to keep warm. Then there was Chang, who was always around whenever we needed help with directions , booking cabs, suggesting places to eat at. She was a good conversationalist too , through who we learned a little more about Vietnam. Finally, Hang, who was equally helpful. She took the trouble to print out bus routes that we needed to get around Hanoi and to get to the airport. She recommended the perfect cafe at Train Street and told us how to go about getting there. We thoroughly enjoyed our two stints of stays and couldn't have asked for anything more. We recommend Golden Legend in a...
