We stayed in this hotel two times in the same week. Our first stay was mediocre at best: outdated, an insanely high shower/bathtub, the fridge was a freezer, but at least we had working airconditioning. On our second stay, when we entered the fourth floor, we saw a bunch of old fans standing in the hallway. When we got to our room, there were brown stains on the bedroom wall, blood stains on the bathroom mirror and dirty water in the sink, but most annoyingly: it was even hotter than outside (over 34°C). We immediately turned on the AC at its lowest setting (16°C) and left it at that for 3 hours. When we noticed the room temperature hadn't dropped by a single degree, we decided to inform the receptionists. When we told them our room number, it was very clear that this problem was already known to them, yet they told us they would send up a technician 'immediately'. It took over half an hour for this 'technician' to arrive, and when he did, he just turned the AC off and on again (as if we didn't try that three hours earlier🙄) and told us it was fixed. When we told him it wasn't, he had a loud internal debate in Vietnamese before calling the reception from our room, suggesting that we negotiate with them ourselves. We asked if it was possible to get another room, but they told us that wouldn't matter as 'all rooms are the same'. When we informed them about our previous stay with perfectly working airconditioning, the hotel was 'suddenly' fully booked (it wasn't, there were still rooms available on their website for that night). They offered to get us a fan instead, and as it was clear they were not planning on finding an actual solution for us, we decided it was better than nothing. So the 'technician' left to fetch us a fan, and when he hadn't returned after over 15 minutes, I decided I would just get one of the fans from the hallway. When he saw me, the technician grabbed one of those fans and pretended it actually took him 20 minutes to get that fan even though it was literally a 10 second walk. The fan also makes a weird gurgling noice on top of its exceptionally loud fanning.
Honestly, having a shitty hotel is one thing, but lying about it and keeping your already discontented guests up for another hour for no reason is...
Read moreOur stay at La Dolce Vita Hotel in Hanoi was absolutely delightful! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel warmly welcomed with their friendly smiles and excellent service. The check-in process was smooth, and they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
The hotel's location is perfect - right in the heart of Hanoi, close to the Old Quarter and within walking distance to many of the city's main attractions, shops, and restaurants. Despite being in such a bustling area, the hotel provided a peaceful and relaxing environment.
The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, blending modern comforts with a touch of Vietnamese charm. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated the attention to detail, from the fresh linens to the thoughtful amenities.
Breakfast at the hotel was another highlight! The variety of options, including both Vietnamese and Western dishes, was impressive, and everything was fresh and delicious.
What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. They were always eager to help, offering great recommendations for places to visit and eat, and making sure our stay was nothing short of perfect.
I highly recommend La Dolce Vita Hotel for anyone visiting Hanoi. It’s a gem that offers outstanding service, a prime location, and excellent value for money. I can't...
Read moreThe rooms are decent for the price & location but the Reception lady Phuong, is very unprofessional ; unlike the Manager and Male staff at the reception, who were absolute gentlemen. The Lady at the reception raised her voice and started shouting at my wife when we checked out at 12.40pm instead of the standard 12pm. We were asked to pay a late fee, 200K VND extra, which is absolutely Okay 👍, but the tone in which she shouted at my wife resembled that of an illiterate and poorly brought up individual. We are okay to pay the late charges, but the tone used by the reception lady Phuong is very disrespectful and un-becoming of the hotel and it's other pleasant Staff.
The lady even insolently suggested that we call her manager, and offered to dial his number for us, and her tone & attitude even indicated that she had no fear of the manager or any consequences of her poor behaviour. Seems like she is the real boss at the hotel, rather than...
