Luxe Paradise Suites Hotel Nam Ngu, Hoan Kiem — Hotel in Hà Nội

while the location is great and the staff tries to be helpful despite speaking little english, the room we got was so tiny it was difficult to fit any backpacks between the wall and the bed (let alone 2 people), the ceiling fan sounded like a helicopter so we could not sleep... what we could do though, was marvel at the stains and hair strands left on the "fresh" bedsheets or the fluff under the bed either await the fan to fall down on us during the night (which to our disbelief never happened! but still kept us awake at night), look out through the windows (one facing the corridor so brightly lit during the night that it felt like the perfectly alligned blind was non-existing; the second 'window' facing the other room, which luckily was blocked out by bricks) play a game called find the difference between 18 and 30 degrees on the AC (guess what - there was no difference cause it was broken!) so - a great place to stay if you are finished visiting the cool spots in hanoi and need some unconventional way of spending...

Unit is spacious, and location is perfect. The management must take better care of their unit and it would be 5/5. Unfortunately, some simple things that could have been fixed were not: we were not able to close the bathroom door and it would keep opening. They were not able to fix the issue during my 4 day stay. They fixed on the second day the lock from the gallery door which was a safety issue, it was easily accessible from other people to come in. While I gave the key of my unit, they perform the maintenance and left the key on the door and the door unlocked. I am not missing any items but you can tell that the staff is not very focused. You have access to a kitchen but there is no plates or proper cutlery, mugs and glass. The rest was great. I had the chance to compare units and choose, I kept the studio versus the suite which had an amazing view but the bed was too hard for my liking. Also the suite shower was not containing the water. I loved my stay regardless of the small maintenance...

A TOTAL DISRESPECT !!!!!

The room looked clean at first, bed neatly made, pillows fluffed but that was just shameless dishonesty. Under the sheets: hairs (well over ten strands, if you’re into counting), stains, grime, even the footprints of the previous guest. Sink was caked with grime, floor decorated with dust bunnies, and to top it all off, I found used cotton swabs lying casually on the ground..

They didn’t just skip cleaning, they pretended they didn’t. If you’re not paying close attention, you’d be tricked into sleeping in someone else’s filth.

Result? I ended up on the street at 9PM, dragging a heavy suitcase, scrambling to find another hotel last-minute — because there was absolutely no way I’d stay a second longer or trust them again. As someone who works in hospitality myself, I find this level of disregard for a guest not only unacceptable but deeply...
