MOLD- failing to uphold health standards !! At the beginnning, as long as there was no problem, the staff was friendly and helpful in managing and booking a tour to Cat Ba Island. BUT we became extremely disappointed with the stay at this hotel. Behind the bed, next to the place to your head where you sleep, the wall was extremely covered by black mold. The staff only offered to clean quickly the wall and showed no real willingness to address the issue and denied the negative impact on health when staying in this room. Despite multiple requests for assistance to get another room, no adequate solution was offered, because they had no room left. They showed no understanding and assistance in helping to find a new room. When we had to find by ourself very spontanously a new hotel for the night they at least gave us back the money we payed to them for the night. The lack of hygiene and the indifference from the staff made the stay till we left for our new hotel very uncomfortable. I had a horrible experience at this hotel! Here’s what happened: I found a “Deluxe double” on Agoda for 275k VNĐ. I arrived to the hotel and they said, that they want 500k for the room. The girl at reception didn’t speak English very well and called her boss. Since I know Agoda can be a bit sketchy sometimes I thought, that we can agree upon a price that would be ok, for both sides. Even though I could have just booked straight from Agoda. They basically stalled, using excuses like bad English, confusion and sadness. During the 10 minutes they stalled, they took down their Agoda offer, so we wouldn’t be able to book it anymore a demanded payment of 500k per night.

Conclusion: No respect for customers. Horrible servis. Poor english at front desk. They use emotions like sadness, confusion and anger to get what they want - as much money as possible. Basically a scam, because they lure you in with an offer, that doesn’t...

The room looked nice. Apart from small things, what's next is why we wouldn't stay here again. They offer massage here and ask every time you walk through the lobby making it uncomfortable to come and go. Aside from 30 minutes being barely 20, the ladies would not let my wife and I get dressed after, they blocked everything demanding a tip. They wouldn't leave the room. They laughed at the tips and demanded more. Then instead of changing sheets on massage beds they straightened the sheets after we'd been laying on them, even the face towels were reused, that's gross.
