A charming 3-star hotel nestled in the vibrant heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter, this place truly captures the spirit of the city! We selected this hotel for its fantastic location, just a short stroll from Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounded by a wonderful array of restaurants.
We were lucky enough to stay in the balcony rooms, which offered delightful views of the lively streets filled with locals going about their daily lives. The staff here are genuinely friendly and incredibly helpful. They were more than happy to look after our suitcases while we explored the area on an overnight tour.
The rooms are spacious enough for a family, and the beds are quite comfortable for a 3-star hotel. While some pillows could use a bit more fluffiness, it didn’t detract from our stay. Like many hotels in Vietnam, we did find that the mini bar fridge struggled to keep our drinks cool.
We had the opportunity to experience three different rooms, and while some bathrooms could benefit from a redesign, the fantastic water pressure really made the showers enjoyable. In one of the high-level rooms, the shower setup had a little too low a ceiling for comfort, and the glass partition with horizontal blinds offered minimal privacy, but these are minor details in an otherwise great experience. A new shower head might just enhance the comfort even more!
Although we opted to skip the included breakfast due to limited choices, the local food stalls just around the corner offered delicious options that made up for it.
One suggestion would be to focus on a bit more maintenance in the hallways and elevator for that extra freshness. We appreciated the flexibility of early check-in or late check-out for a small fee, which was a nice touch.
All in all, we would absolutely stay here again! The owners are humble, genuinely nice, and honest people who truly care about their guests. This hotel has a warm and welcoming vibe that makes it a wonderful place to call home while...
Read moreStayed here for a week and overall it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel staff were very courteous and friendly. All English speaking and the concierge was open 24/7 which is always a bonus. They were never pushy with any tours/services and gave the best advice on how to explore Hanoi if its your first time. The rooms were clean and everything functioned as it should.
The hotel is located in a great area -- the old quarter -- and the perfect spot if you're in Hanoi to walk around and eat. All the great pho, bun cha, bun bo hue, cha ca, Bia Hanoi spots are literally within walking distance, so you never have to venture far to eat. They're also incredibly cheap on top of being very tasty.
The hotel is about a 12 minute walk from the popular bar corridor, and about 10 minutes from the Don Xuan market. 10 minutes in the opposite direction and you'll reach the lake.
Beds can be a little on the hard side, the AC worked flawlessly and was a strong unit.
There are a few setbacks. Although room service was good, there must be a checklist missing because some essential item was always missing from the room after cleanup; bathroom tissue, towels, glasses, bed sheet. You'd leave your hotel room, come back to a clean one, and find that you're 1 towel short, or a glass is missing. Or 2 rolls of bathroom tissue...suddenly became one....its as if the hotel was rationing these items with a limited stock. After a few days it became a running joke; what would go missing next?
But overall the stay was wonderful and everyone was very helpful whenever I needed anything, but none of that matters when you step out of the shower, slip and almost fall because the bath mat suddenly...
Read moreI cannot stress how much I love this place. I meant to stay only 1 day between a cruise to Ha Long Bay and a few days in Sapa. But we met the owner who’s a super friendly and knowledgeable woman who helped us book a trekking tour to Sapa, her hometown. She helped us make the calls to book buses and when we got sick the day of taking our return bus, she managed to convince them to not charge us to change it (policy is you need to change reservations at least 24hrs in advance).
The hotel is what you’d expect for this price range BUT the hospitality is unmatched. I did laundry and she ran to give me a undergarments bag to protect my bras. She checked in on us while we were in Sapa to make sure we were enjoying our trip. And she and her staff very quickly addressed any issues we had.
The complimentary breakfast was lovely every day. They have a range of cold cuts, warm food made fresh every day ranging from stews to pho to fried rice, you can order eggs directly from the kitchen, there are fresh fruits, bread, yogurt, cereal and more. I actually looked forward to getting out of bed for breakfast every morning. And for people that arrived a bit later, they extended the hours so people could eat.
After coming back from Sapa, my partner and I stayed for a few more days. When he left for the airport at 4:45am, they prepped him a breakfast bag with eggs, milk, bread and fruit. It was the kindness gesture. This is the best treatment I have ever gotten at a hotel of any price range.
Location is also great! There’s food everywhere and the main tourist locations in Old Town are about 10 mins away by foot. If I’m ever back in Hanoi with the same budget, I will be...
