H Boutique Hoi An — Hotel in Hội An

This hotel is modern and clean (not sparkling but like 7/10), and has good water pressure, REALLY good AC, and good wifi, good enough to work remotely with only minor video calling problems. The only thing is - if you stay on the 4th floor, there is something happening on the roof, and every 15 to 30 seconds something starts buzzing/ humming - like a water heater or condenser or something. There is nothing the hotel can do about it, it is just the building. It will drive you absolutely insane, and the only way you will be able to sleep is with ear plugs. I moved to the 2nd floor and it was still there but way quieter and I slept fine. So make sure you ask for a lower floor.

A little out of the way, maybe 15 minutes walking to old town, and when walking back from the night market there are questionable sidewalks and poor street lighting, so it seems silly to take a Grab for such a short distance, but I would if it was late.

I was supposed to stay 10 days, but only made it to 3 because of crazy construction happening downstairs. I was annoyed that they did not warn us in advance but the front desk people were super nice about me leaving early and even comped me a night for the inconvenience. Despite the noise and having to leave early, still rating 4.5 stars, rounding up to 5, because this hotel was incredibly cheap and for a modern hotel with great wifi and AC, I would actually stay again (when they are not doing construction). The staff are very helpful, especially the male staff wearing glasses who speaks good English. The accommodation is comfortable, close to food, close to the market, safe, the room is clean, fully equipped, there is a hair dryer, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, 2 bottles of drinking water, the bed is very comfortable. Disadvantages: the sound of dragging chairs is very clear and loud. Those who have difficulty sleeping will have a hard time. Sleep on a high floor. Hot water for showering is difficult to adjust, but it can be adjusted. The water is strong, the air conditioner is not loud. Very good value for the price paid....

This was the best hotel for such a good price. Short walk into old town, there’s a gym nearby as well. View was great, and the shower was good. Coffee downstairs was decent as well.

I liked that it wasn’t fully in the chaos of the old town. Lots of street vendors selling local food on the street.
