Minh Quang Hotel — Hotel in Hội An

My girlfriend and I went in without a reservation and negotiated our price without knowledge of any reviews about this place. It seems either we got lucky or the hotel has improved a lot in recent years. The staff was kind and helpful, offered cheap bike rentals and cheap water (as cheap as or cheaper than markets nearby), clean towels were provided daily, the room was clean, good hot water, good wifi, comfortable beds, really nothing to complain about. It wasn't mind blowing amazing, but it did the job quite well and at a much lower price than many other places were quoting. Plus it has an excellent location, super close to old town. We negotiated a basic room in the middle (just breather window to the aisle) for only 9USD. Good price for the size of bed, comfort, tv and ensuite bathroom. First room smelled strongly like cigarrettes. Changed to one above. Dirty sheets. We alerted, went out and came back several hours later. Hadn't changed. Asked again, waited 15min, nothing...Complained again in front of people arriving at the hotel, then they changed it. Wifi on reception is good, but hotspot on 2nd floor is off and on 3rd floor connects but has no route to internet. Asked for a cup of hot water in the morning to make tea but they said didn't have any. Staff was nice in general, despite all, and helped us with taxi when leaving. We went to Hoian for 2 days 1 night for a short trip but we unluckily as on arrival in hoian.||We had to walked alot to find out some cheap hotels but most were full booked. Just by chance we found out Minh Quang hotel on Hai ba Trung street and had to pay 15$/room/nite. Acctually it's not valued as our money spent but that's the cheapest we could stay at that moment. With us was ok but just let other people know that this hotel there're many room without windows and the smell're terrible.
