We were craving a great banh mi and, after seeing all the rave reviews, we couldn’t resist checking out this place. There were a few tables available where you could sit and enjoy your sandwich with a drink, so we decided to settle in next to a nice, powerful fan for some added comfort.
We ordered both a pork roll and an egg roll to try the difference. They were freshly made right after we ordered and placed on the grill. As soon as they were served, we couldn’t wait to take our first bite—and we were not disappointed! This was, hands down, one of the crunchiest banh mis I’ve ever had! Crunch factor: 10/10.
The pork roll featured slices of actual pork meat, not the usual pork ham, which felt like a fresher and healthier option compared to the cold cuts I’m used to. The pate had a homemade taste to it and was absolutely delicious—10/10. The only thing I missed was the pickled carrot, but when I spoke with Me Hieu, he explained that he wanted to make his banh mi stand out by skipping it. He also mentioned that some people prefer not to have it, so that’s why he left it out.
The egg roll was good, too, though we found the egg a bit overpowering compared to the herbs and pate. It would make a great breakfast option for some extra protein, but personally, I’ll stick to the pork version next time.
We also tried both a salt ice coffee and a regular milk ice coffee, and both were perfectly made and delicious!
Now, a quick note for any Aussies out there: If you're used to the Australian-style banh mi, I’d suggest coming with a different mindset. Remember, this is where banh mi originated, and the Australian version has been adapted to local ingredients and taste preferences. So, it might be a bit different from what you're used to, but it’s definitely a unique and authentic experience worth trying. Every region boasts its unique take on their dishes and this should be respected.
At just 35,000 dong per roll, this was a 5-star meal we thoroughly enjoyed....

The tastes are good, not too greasy like bread in other stores. I attractted the most at Bro Hieu's energy. He can make us feel happy. Keep doing it, you can make more people feel happy! Thank you!
Therefore, I felt so good to meet the friendly asmosphere place like this with the owner's big smiles, Bro Hieu and his wife, and a baby in her belly! All the best wishes for their baby💕.
After that day, I came back again to try pork one. But haha this time was hilarious since brother Hieu put a lot of chili in it so made me super spicy. I can't stand with it. So i have to go for walk to calm it down 🤣
Moreover, in the opposite view, you can see the charming white dog if you sit outside. I want to meet this friend again!🖤
Anyway, if you walk in Hoàng Diệu street or other streets nearby, let's put this store in your...
