Me and my two friends was just walk in on the spot and managed to book 2 rooms (1 room with two single beds and 1 room with queen size bed). As we booked it on the spot after we reached District 1 in evening from Mui Ne. We didn't expect much as we will need to catch flight the next morning but overall this hotel was a little bit of old and not trendy hotel.||Check in:|(+) The receptionist lady was very helpful in answering our queries on rate, room and etc. Very friendly as well despite our language barrier. Although it was a very budget style hotel, but the service was great.|(+) We got our rooms in less than 15 minutes from check in procedure.|(+) The rooms was in clean and tidy. The in room facilities such as mini fridge, television, water heater, electricity was in well functioning condition.|(+) Bed quality was good as well, prior to the price paid. We felt it was good enough.|(+) No breakfast provided but no worry, it have ample of street food around.||(-) One downside of it, we got our room facing the main road which it will be very noisy in the morning with all the vehicle honk. Read moreThe rooms aren't 5 star but you're not paying 5 star rates and was very clean and comfortable. This combined with the fact that the staff were very friendly and helpful is the reason I give them a 4 rating.||We were originally booked into their other hotel Duna Hotel but they only had doubles which wasn't going to be suitable for the kids - we needed 1 x double and 1 x3 bedder||Owners took us to their other hotel 100m down the road and for an extra US $5 provided us with suitable rooms. Bit uneasy with them holding the passports but pretty normal in Ho Chi Min and provides them with security if room is damaged by rowdy tourists.||Rooms were clean, tidy, air con, FAST wifi, and movie channels. Our room was a deluxe room which was a decent size and the kids were in a 3 bedder. Their bathroom had a spa, which the girls took advantage of.||Hotel was pretty close to the tourist eating area at Pham Ngu Lao if you're looking for something reasonably priced near here - equates to US$25 per night roughly.||Overall would...

I kind of like the backpacker, or Pham Ngu Lao District, because of the many food choices after I have become exhausted on rice and noodles for breakfast lunch and dinner in my far reaching travels off the beaten path usually on motorcycles.. Under new management now and all new staff except the excellent and efficient doorman who has worked there the entire 10 years I have been visiting. Somewhat recently refurbished and fine for a one star Vietnam hotel, I recommend it highly. I always try to book rooms not in the the front where street noise is inevitable. I am not there to gaze out the window at the park. I last took a standard double room and got room 304, had a nice bathroom with tub, plenty of hot water and for me and one overnight guest it was just fine with a window that let in light so I knew when it was morning, but no noise. Good...
