Horrible, horrible, experience. Ordered ogbono soup for my mum, on getting to the hotel, the soup had a tiny fragment of ogbono and mixed with something else. My mum says it was mixed with garri. Hence the soup wasn’t giving the drawy texture. I called the restaurant and the lady said it was the last ogbono that was remaining that they used in cooking, so obviously, it wasn’t enough and they added garri to it. Anyways the lady said she was going to make another soup, she asked my mum over the phone to choose between efo-riro and okra because they don’t have ogbono. My mum chose okra. I got there the next day, for pick up, only to find the was no protein in the soup. The lady said she taught we were going to pick the protein from the bad soup and we asked her how is that possible? A soup that had complaints and you were expecting us to pick the proteins from the soup to put in another soup you made to redeem your face. My mum asked her to do a partial refund because there was no protein in the new soup, and I also brought back the faulty ogbono soup, intact with proteins. She refused to do this, she rather went into the kitchen and said she was going to make some proteins for the soup. The proteins that was to come with the soup is: beef, tripe and cow foot. However she said the beef is tough it will take longer to cook. So she was going to make tripe and cow foot. I asked her since the soup should contain beef and the beef is not available that means she has to put more tripes or cow good to make up for the absent beef. She said she took care of that and her mum also concurred saying she put more tripe to make up for the beef. Guess what? They lied, my mum told me, what she saw In the soup was one tripe and two pieces of cow foot, that barely had meat on it. They are so dishonest. The lady’s mum was trying to be civil although she lied as well but the lady wasn’t really talking but you could see she was pissed, she was just holding back. I paid $33 and some change, for garbage, hope that money makes you sleep...
Read moreI had heard so much about jollof rice that I took the opportunity when I saw this place. When I went in, it was barren. No menus on the wall or behind the counter. I asked if they had Jollof rice. After confirming that they did i was asked if I wanted chicken with it and if figured i may as well get the full experience. I was told it would take 15 minutes. When I got it home I tried the rice, excited to try it. Mush. The two chicken pieces were grey. I tried a bite, tough with no flavour. I never knew that dark meat could be tough and dry. I paid $22.59 for a meal I tossed into the garbage. I will never return and warn others...
Read moreFirst time having African food. We got the Beef Suya and Jollof. I don’t have anything to compare too but the Beef Suya seemed a tad dry for my liking. It was more like a jerky style so it was tougher than I expected. The flavor was great and spicy but not too spicy. The Jollof (Rice) had amazing flavor. Almost tasted and looked like a Mexican rice. Red in color with tons of flavor. I would eat there again for sure. The lady who helped us was a sweetheart. Go help support...
