Beyond disappointed in our experience with Two Sisters Vineyards and 11th Post on Queen. My husband and I were generously gifted a gift card for our wedding and planned a special trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake to use it. Prior to our trip, I attempted to book a barrel cellar tasting. We were told, however, that we could not participate with our 9-month-old in tow, who we unfortunately couldn’t leave at home. No problem, we thought; we'll use it towards a nice meal at one of the two restaurants clearly listed under the "Dining" drop-down on the Two Sisters Vineyards website. After all, both restaurant logos even appeared and were promoted in the email signature of the Two Sisters associate who informed me our daughter was not welcome. Fast forward to our arrival at Niagara-on-the-Lake, I attempted to book a reservation at 11th Post on Queen (the more casual/baby-friendly looking of the two). Initially, the hostess was reluctant to book me a reservation, but eventually did so after I explained that I had a “Two Sisters gift card” that we planned to use and had specifically booked our trip around. Although our server was lovely, the food was mediocre at best. When the bill came, we were then told that the gift card could not be used at that restaurant. The manager had a combative attitude right off the bat but addressed our concern by offering to “do something” about the bill. She then, however, proceeded to do nothing at all when she realized we were going to be polite about the situation which left us feeling even more frustrated. Why offer to "do something" to make the situation right if you're not going to do anything at all? Feeling defeated, we finally stopped at the vineyard to purchase wine, which we ultimately found disappointing. I regret to say that I will not be recommending Two Sisters Vineyard, 11th Post on Queen, or any subsidiary based on...
Read moreI was so impressed with this restaurant when we entered. The waiter was polite and attentive. The decor is excellent. The washrooms are modern and clean. (Which is saying a lot given that many restaurants in older buildings struggle in this area.) Things were going great...until the food arrived. Oh my! Where to begin? My wife had the French beef dip which consisted of a beef sandwich and a kale salad. First, we have been to France many times and my wife is Franco-Ontarian. There was nothing French about this meal. You could not dip the sandwich in the dip because it is too big. The beef was tasteless. The dip didn't help with adding taste either. The kale salad had 🌶️ hot peppers in it! Even once we got rid of those, the whole salad was still somehow "off" in a way that my wife could not describe. My meal wasn't any better. I had the burger. All I could really taste was salt. Loads of salt. Now maybe I should have taken the bacon and cheese out or loaded it up on relish or ketchup, but there were no condiments available. And by the time I might have asked for some, I had already given up eating. The fries were incredibly greasy too, literally limp with grease. I felt so bad, I just wanted to pay and leave. My wife was braver. She complained to our waiter. He immediately took 50% off her meal, which she barely touched. Which was at least something. Great atmosphere, but these two meals were not at all...
Read moreVery disappointed with our meal. The cocktails were very good, the restaurant looks beautiful and the waitress was very nice but not happy with the food. Ordered the Cobb salad, and they should not call it a Cobb salad (at least not what they have on the menu), and we thought we were getting one of those beautiful Cobb salads that we usually get at other places but did not. They charged us the price of a big salad but got the size of a side salad. But it wasn't even just the size, it barely had any of those great fixings we enjoy in a Cobb salad. I should have taken a picture but I didn't because I too hungry to think and too disappointed. We had to order fries just to fill us and came home and had cereal. And anyone who has ever ordered a true Cobb salad knows you don't need to order a side of fries to fill you. We didn't say anything at first but our friends were even more disappointed for us so they said something to the waitress, and they didn't even have the salad. The waitress told us that she was sorry for not telling us what their "Cobb salad" looked like. She felt bad so she gave us a free dessert but the dessert wasn't any good so it didn't take away from the disappointment, just added to it. So not saying not to go to this restaurant, just get the burger would be my suggestions because it looked good, and it was only $2 more...
