Great Things — Local services in Niagara-on-the-Lake

I have been shopping at Great Things since it opened 24 years ago visiting at least twice a year to get beautiful clothes for different seasons. Most of my wardrobe is made of pieces that Sharon, the owner, selects keeping in mind my preferences. She also helps my sister who lives in Paris but visits Great Things every year. Coming here has become our family tradition and a very special time. When we travel our suitcases can be easily packed exclusively with great things from Great Things. I can’t imagine what I would do without Sharon, her perceptive eye, her fantastic taste and her ability to work with her customers!

P.S. Still shopping at Great Things 3 years after I left my last review so it's been over a quarter of a century now. I visit this store every season, sometimes more than once, when I have a chance to get great quality clothes, expert styling advice and fashion inspiration. Now my daughter wears Sharon's fabulous finds and loves them as they wash and wear very well. I give away the pieces that no longer fit me to my friends and family to enjoy as all the items that I bought age exceptionally well so they are certainly worth the money that I paid. I am a fashion klutz. Thankfully, my partner suggested that I pop into Great Things a few years ago. With Sharon’s guidance, I’ve been gradually building a new wardrobe with intentional pieces that are versatile and as she says “the easy breezy casual style of NOTL”. Sharon always makes me feel at ease with a respectful, no pressure approach, and I happily walk out with a bag of clothing, knowing that I’ve purchased quality pieces that are timeless and will last for years. I feel like she’s my own personal stylist while I’m there. She and her associates provide honest advice, and if you tell her what you like and don’t like, she’ll find things that work for you. This is an edit because the store owner called wanting to make things right. That is wonderful customer service. The store wants your business and wants boutique shoppers to feel welcome. They dont want icecream carriers and disrespect (They must see alot of that, that was not us). I'd say give them a try. Perhaps getting a call out is just the thing that will make them the choice boutique in NOTL. I did really like the dress and linen top I bought!
