Budapest Bakeshop is a unique bakery known for its authentic Hungarian Chimney Cakes, also known as Kurtoskalacs. The sweet chimney cakes at Budapest Bakeshop are made from fresh yeast dough prepared daily. They offer various flavors like original (just sugar), cinnamon sugar, walnut, raspberry, and poppyseed. Additionally, they have Sweet Chimneys with spreads like Nutella & Walnut, Oreo Cheesecake (my boys favorite), Coconut Cheesecake, and Walnut Cheesecake.

For savory options, they offer chimney cakes with toppings like aged cheddar, jalapeno & cheddar, dill pickle, pizza, bacon & cheddar, and everything bagel. They also serve Chimney Sandwiches using their freshly baked Aged Cheddar Chimney filled with ingredients like Black Forest Ham, Hungarian Salami, Turkey, Spicy Genoa Salami, and Veggie options.

The bakery is family-owned (they are an amazing family also) and offers an experience where customers can see the entire baking process from mixing to rolling, rising, baking, and filling of the cakes. They emphasize freshness and handcraft every chimney cake each day.

Came here for the first time and tried a few different items, with none of them being a dessert style item. Everything I tried was delicious and I can’t wait to go back!

Here is everything I tried:

1. Spicy Genoa Salami Sandwich - straight up AMAZING. I will get this again next time I visit. It was delicious, yet so basic. They use a special mayonnaise that’s also very good. They use a cheddar chimney as the bread of this, whjch is the best part of the sandwich.
2. Black Forest Ham Sandwich - this is also very good! However, I preferred the salami sandwich as I generally prefer salami over ham any day. Also use a cheddar chimney as the bread.
3. Creamy Garlic dip - probably THE BEST garlic dip I have ever tried in my life!
4. Jalapeño & Cheddar Chimney - this alone was so delicious. But even better with the garlic dip. Cheesy and spicy.
5. Pizza Chiney - I loved this one. To me it was better than the jalapeño and cheddar. Again, this with the garlic dip was to die for!!
6. Marinara Dip - this was nothing special. I probably would not order this dip again.

I did not try any of the dessert chimneys and don’t really have any intention to because of how good the food is. 100%...

This is a long overdue review, but Budapest Bakeshop is absolutely the best and I would highly recommend them to everyone. My husband and I got married in NOTL in Nov 2021. Since I am Hungarian I really wanted to incorporate my culture into the reception and what better way then through food! Todd and Anett were fantastic to work with, they helped us on deciding how many chimney cakes we would need, flavors, timing of when they should arrive etc. We had a 100 person wedding, so we ordered around 52 chimney cakes, with each cake being cut into 5 rings allowing our guests to try various flavors. We did a combo of sweet and savory, with the following flavors: Cheddar, Pizza , Nutella & Walnut, Raspberry Cheesecake w/ White Chocolate, Oreo Cheesecake & Cheesecake Coconut. ALL of the flavors were a huge hit with our guests and allowed us to incorporate my Hungarian Heritage in a fun way. I would recommend Budapest Bakeshop as the price is very fair, the food is delicious and the staff are amazing. Cannot wait until we are back in town and can stop in for a chimney cake!!!
