On July 22nd, My 12 year old son, his best friend and I were walking along the Harbourfront when we saw the sign for the Redpath Sugar Museum. On a lark, as we had time to kill, we entered and asked if we could visit the museum, as we did not have an appointment. The receptionist\dispatcher was accommodating and called the curator to see if it was OK, which it was.

The gentleman came and got us, and took us on a short walk to the museum. On entering, I signed the register and he briefly explained the layout and how to proceed. It was a self guided tour, but he was there if we had questions. The boys had a good time looking at the exhibits, and the curator took the time to patiently answer their questions.

This is not a top class museum like the ROM, but it has a lot of history and I would recommend it for the educational value. You can see it all in...

Redpath is a sugar plant that sometime in the near future I hope to call my employer! As living across from the plant on QueensQuay , for years as I go to my factory job up at east York… I dream of working for Redpath .( serious!) Redpath is a success story that has made part of Toronto’s history books , and help build the city we became. Sugar is globally exported with the proud word Redpath in red .. a sign of quality! As a person from Brazil I was surrounded with sugar harvesting, and hope to share my passion for production in Canada at your Redpath production plant. I hope this review will inspire someone to give...

Just walked by and decided to go and check the museum. The curator was super friendly and it was nice to find out the history of the company and just ask questions about the place. How often do you get a chance to go in and ask why does it sometimes smell good and why does it stink? (Turns out the stink comes from the sewer lines and not the sugar). Or ask about the giant sugar pyramids hidden inside the gated off warehouses just out of view. It was fun and I'm glad I decided to go in and ask so where's this museum the sign is up about?

Redpath Sugar museum is a wonderful place for people of all ages to understand the sugar manufacturing process, and how it has evolved and improved..Richard the curator is a very knowledgeable person..And admission to museum is free, however you need to write and email or call to get visit permission..plenty of paid parking spots nearby, and if you want 1 hour free parking you can park at the LCBO which is across the street. You will only be allowed entry into the museum and not to the manufacturing facility

The Redpath museum is a great place to visit, very informative, the museum tour guide is Richard, he is exceptionally knowledgeable about all aspects of the history and operations at Redpath, he's a very friendly guide, plenty of history and facts about the production of sugar and the history of Redpath over the past 150+ years, this visit and tour highly recommended!
