Great neighborhood bar to all those living in the south core. We've been waiting to visit this place for a while and when they announced their grand opening special, we rushed to try their $2.50 pints of larger and pale ales. Both were very refreshing for a great summer evening. Our waitress, Sydney, was just amazing. Friendly and prompt! We also got to play some corn holes. We suggested it would be best if they had that gaming experience where we could drink and play because right now you can't take your booze outside. No big deal! Their food looks amazing especially the salad pics and description made my mouth water. But they seem a little pricey. They have the famous dutch bitterballen which I was very impressed with them. Hope they make the veggie version of it too. I have to find out if they have a happy hour so that we can get there early and try all the yummies while keeping it reasonable. They have a retail store which is open later than LCBO. I've always loved their beers, so it'll be good to give their retail some business instead of picking up at LCBO. :) Overall a great addition to the area and we will be back.

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday morning to try out their breakfast sandwich. It's a bit out of the way from my regular neighborhood haunts (around 40 minutes subway and walk) but I'm always game for trying out new breakfast/brunch places, even if on my own. Didn't expect to run into another friend who was showing around his visiting parents around town (so the company was nice too). On to the food! The longganisa patty had the right amount of sweetness. The cheesy egg was also pretty filling.. and the brioche bread was soft and flavorful! Overall, the whole meal was great! The only thing left were the watermelon and orange peels. Compliments to the chef :) Service was prompt and attentive. Granted, I came in just at opening time, so it wasn't that crowded yet, so I'll have to visit again at a busier time to see hahaha. The atmosphere felt warm, bright, homey and clean. Overall, the trip was definitely worth it. I have some friends in the neighborhood so I can imagine hanging out with them here more in the future.

We unfortunately had a really awful experience here. I’ve been a regular for the past few months since your restaurant as opened. This evening we had an awesome time with delicious beers until the food came. We ordered the beet salad which was cold , and without goat cheese as we expected. We had 1 bite each and did not eat the rest. We told this to our server who said that many people don’t like the salad and to try something different next time. When the bill came, we were expected to pay the full amount, at which point we asked for clarification. The manager Mike came to our table and accused us of not being dissatisfied enough with our server to discount the salad. He told us we should have spoken up sooner instead of waiting to the end of the meal. We ate none of the salad. We were quite surprised that this was the approach of a manager to address an issue that is clearly common with this salad based on feedback from the server. When were finally paying, with the salad removed from our bill, Mike explained that there were new kitchen staff which could have been the source of the error. I strongly suggest that menu item issues that are brought to the attention of staff are approached with more care and less of an accusatory energy. While we were attempting to explain our side, Mike cut us off instead of listening to the issue. While I appreciate the difficulties of training new staff and staffing shortages in the post COVID era, it would really serve both your company and your staff to treat your customers with respect, and admitting fault as opposed to accusing the paying customer of fault prior...

The bones of this place are great but it has some easy fix problems. THE LIGHTING 0.3/10 - If you like drinking in an operating room or a Winners store, this place is for you. Every single light in this place was in overdrive and it’s very off putting. Guys, this is a bar. Bars should have atmosphere. Turn off some lights. THE MUSIC 0.9/10 - Close your eyes and you will be transported to a 15 year old’s birthday party in Oakville. Cheeseball remixes of Adell your thing? Well this is the place for you. Super annoying. Again guys, this is a bar. Now don’t go and start playing awful 90s grunge or some other cheese. Curate your playlist! THE TVs 1.2/10 - On a night when a Toronto Sports team is playing it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect that it would be shown on the giant TV above your head. Instead my eye entertainment for my visit was professional wrestling. Yup! Freaking professional wrestling. Where am I? Barrie? THE BEER 9.5/10 - Ordered a nitro English bitter/ale (not sure which one) and was told to wait for it to settle as just under half of it was foam. It never settled. I paid full price for half a beer. But it was great tasting. Then I tried both pilsners which were outstanding. FOOD 10/10 - ordered the Buffalo chicken wings. It’s been a while since I’ve had wings this good. Very impressed. SERVICE 9/10 - very attentive and very friendly. No complaints despite the “wait for it to...

Unfortunately, my recent experience at GLB Great Lakes Brewpub was extremely disappointing. I've been a regular customer for several years, but I'm unlikely to return.

Upon arrival, we requested a table with a good view of the TV for the Leafs game. Unfortunately, the host seated us in a corner with limited to zero visibility. While this was less than ideal, we were willing to make the most of it and eventually found a better spot after 30 minutes into the game. However, our evening took a turn for the worse when our server became verbally abusive. After learning that we hadn't tipped, he demanded that we leave the restaurant. In his words, "You guys should get out now." He went on to make unprofessional comments about his employer not paying him enough and having to cover the bartender's pay out of his own pocket, insisting that we should tip him because of this.

Regardless of the reason, a server should never treat customers with such disrespect. I believe that this kind of behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. I hope that the restaurant will take steps to address this issue and ensure that their customers have a positive...
