My husband and myself decided to check out the Steamworks in Vancouver because we have been to the Steamworks in Berkley CA and its a damn nice club. We decided while we were walking by to go in and ask some questions before we decided if we were going to go or not. The first person we encountered was PJ. PJ has the same initials as my husband, we had a laugh about that and let me tell you this man went way over and beyond to give us the information we wanted to know. He is super friendly and super funny and at the same you can tell he runs a tight ship. I would totally hang out with PJ as a friend, he just radiates good vibes.
later that night we encountered a guy and i feel bad I didn't get his name (slim white guy around 60) this guy is was a bit more serious, he had to help me a couple of times because of my poor eyesight. when we went to get our stuff and my partner handed him the key he asked why do you have this key? He actually remembered who had what key. Hell i cant even remember my locker...
Read moreI was charged for a card and a locker, but left my wallet at home, tried to pay with apple pay and it didn’t go through so I went to the closest ATM I found. While doing that I checked the website and realized that I didn’t have to pay since it was a free locker for people 25 & under, which I had to mention to the receptionist since he acted as he didn’t know even though he had my ID on his hand twice. While getting my data on the system I asked about the student tariff that I saw on the price list, to what he interrupted me and told me to wait. After he was done with that, he was charging me for a regular user card, to what I replied asking again how does the student card worked and handling him my student ID. He was really rude and disrespectful blaming me for wasting his time when he is the one working there, is he not the one supposed to apply the discounts for the corresponding events and answering the customers questions? it was really annoying, but the place is not that bad, had some fun. Not that big of...
Read moreGreeted by friendly staff. The place was not busy on this Thursday night, or maybe i just arrived too late. I found it to be clean (acceptable standards). I found it strange their membership is not valid on other steamworks spa, despite the same brand and website. That was the answer i received. They have lockers (a bit old ones). Plenty rooms. The usual fun facilities on the basement that i kept loosing my bearings, a jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Unlike other saunas, these worked and regularly cleaned. Thank you guys. Worth trying it on a busy weekend, i guess. If out of town, like myself, remember the buses end just passed midnight to go back to Granville st. I would not recommend walking around the streets that surround this area, specially if alone. But i had some fun coming here. And a well relaxed time in...
