The food here is excellent ! However the service was so incredibly poor I don’t even know where to begin… a few things about it that just made our entire evening bad: Wine arrived after our food, so we had to sit there and wait for it before we could start eating. The waiters were slow to the table with everything. Taking our orders - asking how the food was, removing plates whenever we had finished. They had a very tacky attitude. Treating us as if we were supposed to be happy to eat there - not that they were happy to have us as costumers. Whenever we asked questions about the food , (simple question such as if they could describe a dessert cause their translation to English on the menu was very poor) we got a very quick and rude response back. Almost as if we were stupid for asking (when the menu was very poorly translated, as mentioned above).

When we had finished eating for the evening we had to wait a very long time before we could even ask for the bill, and when it arrived and we payed - they never removed our plates. So we had to sit there with our empty plates for a very very long time which felt extremely unprofessional.

When we left, we had to wait almost 15 minutes before they could find our coats that they hung up at the beginning of the visit. So once more - waiting waiting waiting.

If you don’t mind the terrible service, I would recommend the place since the food was such high quality. But yes. Such a shame seeing a fine establishment have that bad service. Really hope they do something about this.

(To be noted - we ate their three course concept where you choose a starter, main and dessert and were pleased with all...

We booked a table 3 weeks before coming as we planned our holidays in the area.

Service was good, although it became a lot less nice once the restaurant filled up and all tables were occupied (for instance we had to make signs 3 times for someone to bring us the bill, and the table next to us had the same experience).

Food was decent overall, a few hits and misses.

Entrances were way too big, I would recommend either sharing one or go straight to the main. My husband had the risotto which was ok but lacking seasoning and I had the velouté which was really good but both of us were full after the entrance already.

Mains were ok, we had the suggestion of the day (scallops) and a half lobster dish. The scallops had all nice things on the list but the sauce lacked punch and didn't really bring everything together (although the plate looked stunning). For the lobster, I had lobster cooked at BBQ before but it didn't taste as chewy as here, I could barely cut it with the knife. The star of that dish for me wasn't the lobster but the pasta. One of the best pasta I have ever had, really amazing shellfish sauce.

We shared a soufle for desert, can't go wrong with that. The Chartreuse ice cream was really good.

Had a couple of cocktails to start with including one without alcohol, both really good.

Nice dinner, which felt...

When we visited on the night of December 27, 2024 (at around 9pm), the staff seemed to be extremely tired and clocked out. Different staff members took our drink orders and then circled back again asking the same question, leading to confusion.

While the appetizers were nice, the main course was a disappointment. I ordered beef medium well, but it came out as well done. The manager (he was wearing a black vest) asked how the food tasted, and I noted that my beef was overcooked. The manager said that unfortunately he couldn’t remake my dish at this hour, and the best he could do was offer me a discount or a little something. My partner offered some of her scallop, which to be fair tasted pretty good.

When the bill came at 11, I was simply handed a check — without asking for any feedback on the meal whatsoever. The manager who promised me a discount to make up for the poor main course also seemed to have left, which left a sour taste in my mouth as he walked back on his promise.

I might have stumbled on an unlucky day, but it was quite unfortunate as I was treating my partner to a holiday meal and I was under the impression that this was a fine dining restaurant. Having been to other fine dining establishments in France, the service and quality was quite bad overall, yet the prices were high (we spent 153...

We had a terrible meal here. I’m uncertain how anyone would give this place a good review or why. While the place has nice atmosphere and the food looked pretty, the service and food flavor were very lacking. We had drinks, squash appetiser, foie gras, the boeuf (supposed to be filet but didn’t taste like it), scallops and slow cooked pork. The drinks tasted like they had no alcohol and were not well prepared. We asked for a replacement, and even straight whiskey tasted watered down. They charged us for the drinks that we sent back. The squash app and foie gras were tasteless. No seasoning or flavor. The filet didn’t taste like filet. It was poorly cooked not to temp, the flavor and texture were not consistent with filet. The slow cooked pork was not flavorful nor tenter as promised. The scallops were ok but very under seasoned. Even dessert was a miss - had a strange flavour and we didn’t finish. On top the service was not good at all. In the end when I was asked if we liked our meal and said no, the waiter said “so it was good”. The only good thing here was the sourdough bread. Payed and left as it wasn’t worth my time to argue. We are foodies and have eaten all over the world and this was the worst meal we had in all Chamonix. Strong suggestion to avoid and we will not return.

We made a reservation for 6 adults for 7pm. Upon arriving , the waitress that greeted us ( I recall she was Belgian ) was rather unfriendly . We were placed on a high stool table in the corner next to the bar and after requesting a normal low seated table , we were told they were fully booked ( even though for the next 90 minutes at least there were empty tables visible to us ). To start the meal , we were provided with 3 small pieces of cracker bread which we were advised to break and share rather than just supply our table with 6 such breads . The food itself was average- the fish was over cooked and when I requested for salt and lemon , none was provided . They even got the basic espresso wrong which is quite shocking (see photo). During the meal as the waiter moved a plate , he managed to spill and stain a chair and no effort to remove the stain nor replace the chair was made (see photo ). At the end of the meal when I mentioned the over cooked fish and the request for salt and lemon being ignored , there was no apology. We stayed in Chamonix for 4 days and of all the meals we had , this was by far the most disappointing in terms of general attitude of the staff and the quality of the food .
